Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Singapore-
Very close to Shin Kobe station, and walkable to the main tourist attractions. It's a old japanese house but well maintained, bed was comfortable and there was a locker provided for valuables. Well equipped kitchen. Onigiri making at breakfast was fun and the staff was nice.

TaiwanThe room and the whole building was FREEEEEEEEZING...
The vibe of Kobe is just wonderful. You will have free breakfast every morning. Even if you don't know how to make rice ball yourself, don't worry! There is always a staff there to teach you. The room was very quiet and people are friendly.

SingaporeI think because it’s an old or traditional Japanese house, it tends to get really cold at night, but after turning on the heater, it gets much better.
The area is really close to Nunobiki Herb Garden. The bed was super comfy, and the place was very clean. The onigiri-making activity was really fun too! xD

Really loved the DIY onigiri for breakfast! And the staff was very friendly. The hostel itself was very cosy too.

United StatesThe staires are very narrow, so if you're doing self check in late at night it can be a struggle to do it quietly. Some of the doors are also a bit small for anyone over. 5'11. Even so, the good absolutely outweighs the bad!
The guesthouse was an absolute delight! The rooms were traditional and beautiful, the host was a pleasure, the bathrooms were clean and so well stocked, and making the onigiri in the morning was such a pleasant way to start the day! The host walks you through it, and you get to enjoy your breakfast either by the incredible waterfalls, or with some wonderful smooth jazz. It's also such a convenient location to both attractions and busses/trains!

AustraliaThe walls are thin but that’s quite usual in Japanese houses. Probably nothing you can do but the people seem to be quite considerate. I probably won’t book this place if I have kids.
Good location. Very quiet and clean. Friendly staff. Free onigiri breakfast which was quite fun. Most amenities available. Like that you could change towels and toothbrushes if needed. :)

IsraelIt was a very small place and the bathrooms were small. The faucets all had almost zero water pressure except for the sink faucet in the kitchen. The style is old Japanese building but I didn't really like it too much.
The beds were super comfortable and the double room I was in was spacious. The kitchen has everything you might need.

JapanThis is more my own problem, but I realised I lost something on my way to the Hostel so I couldn't sleep and worried for most of the night about it. I became hypersensitive to the smallest noises as a result. I still haven't found it.
It was clean and organised. The staff is really kind and I loved that I could practise my Japanese. Air conditioning is a bless. It's very close to Shin-Kobe station and in a residential area so there is no noise.

PolandWhile there were clothes hangers at each bed, if there was a rack dryer just in case around the rain season, it would be great!
Breakfast was an absolute win: the owners teach you how to prepare onigiri, you can choose from several fillings and there is also miso soup to eat. The common kitchen was well organised, so you could heat some meals or do them from scratch after doing some shopping. The best part, however, was the fact that I got to meet a new friend during my stay and I'm really grateful for this!!! ^^

United KingdomThe guesthouse has been renovated with lots of (temporary-looking, however permanent) wooden walls, which let noise through very easily, especially if sleeping right next to them. The dorm-style bedroom was also extremely warm and had only a fan to air the room out.
The guest house is located a five-minute walk from Shin-Kobe station, as well as having a bus route to Kobe-Sannomiya station one-minute away. The decor was very homely, with a front room and kitchen for guests to use. Additionally the staff members were very friendly and welcoming.
