Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PhilippinesThere is no elevator so if you have big luggages it is very hard to carry upstairs. But no need to worry because the host and staff will help you carry it to your room.
I like the location. It's only a minute away from Nagoya station. The staff of the cafe and especially the host of the hostel are very accommodating, helpful and friendly. They are also very fluent in English so there's no problem with communication. The room is very spacious and clean. The bathrooms and toilets are clean too. I really love their body soap. Its so refreshing...

Staff, location, facilities - everything! Icchan and the rest of the staff were really nice and attentive, and the place and facilities were clean and well thought of. It's only a 10 min walk to Nagoya station and the subway. I left a hat that I really liked at a cafe in Sakae and Icchan was nice enough to call the cafe and was able to recover my hat! They also recovered my watch that I lost in the dorm room when I was packing to leave. They are kind enough to keep it for me until I visit again in a few months. :)

MalaysiaThere is no lift so big luggage would be quite inconvenient. Our room was on the 4 floor (ground floor counted as 1st floor). It’s no joke that you really need to travel with a carry on size luggage in Japan. There are so many stairs at the stations and hills and accommodations that do not provide lifts so being able to easily manoeuvre your luggage in these situations really improves your travel experience. I saw families struggling with the oversize luggage and it’s such a pain just watching them.
We stayed 2 nights. Although room was small, it was functional. No queues for the toilets or the showers. Very clean. My teenage sons liked the vibe of this place. They hung out at the kitchen area in the evenings. The location is great, a straight walk from Nagoya station with plenty of eateries along the way and at the station. For those who rush to take the train from Nagoya to Osaka, know that there are stall selling the bento lunches right on the platform so you can save some time just buying the ekiben at the platform instead of at the convenience stores where there are always queues at the cashiers.

JapanThe kitchen was quite untidy, but I wouldn't put that at the fault of the hostel, only bad etiquette from people who stayed there. Speaking of bad etiquette, someone was using a whole shower cubicle as a clothes drying rack :(
Fabulous location and wonderful staff. The owner gave us great recommendations for places to eat and things to do and see, the room was a good size and beds were comfy. Excellent kitchen facilities as well as plenty of seating area.

The dorm was big enough to not feel packed. The lockers are small (only for valuables and small bag) but there are enough space to store luggage around the bed. The bed and pillow are comfortable, everything was clean. The common space is good to meet with other travellers and chat. Free tea and coffee is provided and the kitchen has everything to cook. Icchan is really nice and helpful. He went with me to organise the Ta-Q-bin pickup at the convenient store. I stayed 5 nights to rest in my long trip and do I enjoyed my relaxing stay in Nagoya.

United StatesGlocal Hostel is truly a gem in Nagoya! From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the cleanliness and modern design of the space. Everything feels so up to date, making it not just a hostel but a comfortable home. The host is absolutely amazing —> friendly, welcoming, and always ready to assist with whatever you need. It’s rare to find a place where the staff genuinely care about your stay, and that’s exactly what you’ll find here. Whether it’s travel tips or just a warm conversation, they’ve got you covered. I’ve stayed in many hostels during my travels, but Glocal is something special. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you never want to leave. Every time I come to Nagoya, this will always be my home. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay!

Hong KongOur family room didn't have bedcurtains or wall hooks, so we had to get a bit creative in order to block out the light from our reading lights so our children could sleep and we could hang up clothes after washing; bring magnetic hooks next time. Some guests left food waste in the common kitchen, so some extra signage reminding everyone to clean up after themselves would be idea. The building does not have a lift, so be prepared to lug your suitcase up a few flights of stairs if you are staying for several days like us. The downstairs bar/restaurant is only open on weekends (the owner says unfortunately there's not enough foot traffic to justify opening it every day). All in all, the minor drawbacks are more than outweighed by the enthusiastic owner and cleanliness of the building. We'll definitely be staying here again next time we are in Nagoya.
There's a clear separation between the downstairs bar/restaurant and the hostel, so my initial worry that the crowd would affect my family stay was unfounded. There were other families using the hostel too. The shower and laundry facilities are effecient and soap/washing powder is provided. The owner is a very friendly bilingual Japanese man who backpacked in his youth and really thought hard about how to provide a good place to rest and recuperate while exploring another country. The price is very affordable, especially for long-staying.

United KingdomIt was a little hot and opening the window there was some traffic noise but it was manageable. My fellow room mate was so SO inconsiderate but nothing the hostel can really do about that
Convenient and had everything I needed. The manager was so nice and friendly and seemed to genuinely “get” the backpacking experience.
