Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt was a bit annoying that men and women shower rooms are separated by floor. the women's toilet on our floor got clogged while we were there, and it took them a couple days to fix it - so I ended up using the male toilets on our floor during that time.
We got a private double room. It was very cozy! We had enough room to put our bags in the corner, and we had a desk with TV (which we never used), and mini fridge, which was appreciated. And you can borrow a humidifier for no charge! They have a HUGE kitchen with everything you'd ever need, and a really cozy lounge area and cafe. They also have bikes you can rent out (just during the day) and they charge by the hour. We did that one day - biking is super convenient. The one drink/day service was really awesome too! (although half the days we didn't get back in time to take advantage of it :/). They have laundry machines on-site, which is really nice too. AND a really cute book of recommendations for local restaurants/pubs/cafes to check out!

RomaniaIt was pretty cold in the corridors, and the breakfast was minimal: 3-4 types of meals, the same every morning. There were some works in the hotel during our stay. Even if it wasn't noisy, it was unpleasant to stumble upon the works and workers while doing their job without being announced beforehand.
Good location, close to Ueno park (approx. 10 minutes walking distance) and other artsy neighbourhoods. The hotel had a beautiful rooftop with a fantastic view, and the staff was kind and helpful (plus, the majority were English speakers). The welcoming drink for each night of stay was a lovely touch.

SwedenThe building is not soundproofed well. I was woken up by someone's sneezing in the middle of the night and then a crow's cawing by the early morning.
I liked the location the most, Nezu is a cozy area with good mix of local and tourists. It's walkable to Ueno where there are many museums and lively pubs. The staffs were friendly and helpful.

Hong KongMorning shift staff not as friendly as the ones from the evening.
I liked the lobby common room area alot. Nice and comfy. But it's fairly quiet so it's unlike the hostel environment. I enjoyed the food at the restaurant. Evening staff were very nice and friendly.. All staff spoke good English.

BelgiumI was a bit lost in the kitchen cause they English instructions were either lacking or not so clear, and also Ueno is really not in the city centre.
The staff was super friendly, every day you get a welcome drink, it is easy to get too from Ueno and the Japanese toilet is amazing! Perfect to arrive as the shuttle metro takes you there from Narita Airport!

SlovakiaOk so the room is small, esp the small bed for 2 people so if you need bigger bed choose other option, room is small as is shower...with that being said I loved the place and for us it was no problem. The Cafe makes great mini snack sliders, avacado toast and coffee. The location is mins to Ueno Park and about 11 to the station. Its in a quite residential area that was actually very nice. Other places to buy groceries, etc. Actually staying the following week bcs we are heading to Osaka and booked again bcs we liked it.

Nezu is one of my favorite places in Tokyo to go. I wish I'd known about Graphy sooner, but just loved it. Honestly nothing to complain about. Free drink a day is just great.

TaiwanWell, because it is really cheap, so of cause the room and bathroom are small. Best way is one room for one person, therefore the living experience will be more comfortable.
Location is near by Ueno park but a little be far from Ueno station, when you’re having a heavy luggage, maybe take a taxi is a good choose. The hotel locate in very quiet area, so good for sleep XD, and the room is clear, the staff are all nice and kind. BTW, I really like the bath products which provided by the hotel, good smelling and smooth.

ItalyI would think twice before booking the room with no restroom during winter again - even if they are very clean and they were never occupied when I needed.
Great position, super friendly staff. I recommend it since it is really close to both Ueno stations (JR and Keisei): they are easy to reach even with luggage, although not often maps show how close they are - maps usually recommend metro with change, but there is really no need for that.

SingaporeThe walk to and from Ueno to Graphy is often difficult with luggage, but I understand you can circumvent that with a quick and affordable taxi ride (I haven't tried this). Was not able to get the beer on tap after they changed the welcome drinks to bottles, but was still good.
It's my third stay at Graphy, first after COVID. Although there has been changes since then, the service at Graphy was excellent as usual, the room maintained well and the overall vibe and feel of the space is still as calm and friendly. Room was all I needed, extra pillows requested were supplied promptly and great (firm ones too!). The bathroom, while small, was adequate for all I needed as a solo traveller. Situated in a quiet neighbourhood, it is a good respite from busy Tokyo.

I like the look and feel of the hotel. It has all the things I need; kitchen, laundry, room and bathroom are complete - what i expect from japanese style hotel. Also i like the perka of daily free drink I can choose. Love it after a day of travelling, to get a free drink and rest :)
