Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThere were some inconveniences during my stay, but it is very minor. I wish there was a small garbage bin in the dorm so that one does not have to walk out of the room to throw stuff away. For the shared shower, I think it would be nice to have some hooks in the stall to go along with the clothing basket that was equipped in the shower room.
This is my 2nd experience staying at GRID. My first experience was with GRID Sapporo. Both locations are very well run. I stayed in the dorm and was lucky to be assigned to a corner bed space with two windows. The space extra allowed me to store my big luggage and offers extra privacy.

AustraliaNot suits for family with kids, toilet and bathroom are not in the room. There are two toilets and showers each for man and woman to share(had to wait in busy time) No towels and tissues but pay Y400 for a towel to borrow. One elevator wasn't good sometimes when you are hurry, had to wait for a bit.
Great location, near a convenience stores, restaurants and tourist attractions, nice shower and clean

Australiathe fire alarm did at one point go off at 6 am because the elevator malfunctioned - that was fine they apologised but what was slightly scary was the fire exit door handle had a hard plastic covering which you were supposed to break to be able to get downstairs and out - this cover would not budge - me and several people on our floor incl. gym bros tried and failed to break it for about 15 minutes - we ended up having to call reception until they could get up to open the exit from the other side
Breakfast wasn't bad like other reviews say - buffet-style toast with spreads, cereal, and some salad and occasionally some sausages, unlimited coffee and tea so pretty good for the price. The staff were really polite and spoke enough English to get by, for the price we paid it was genuinely really good and we didn't realise till we got to the room we had a private bathroom. Its also a 5 minute walk from Ueno station on the city loop circuit so we could access all of Tokyo pretty easily until quite late at night

PolandVery basic breakfast - corn flakes, milk, baguette, jam, one pastry, coffee, water, tea. You can not come 5-10 min before breakfast time ends and eat. I completed check in online, but then I had to do in again at check in desk.
Close proximity to Ueno Station, Family Mart and some restaurants. Room was clean. We got towels, bathroom amenities and cosmetics, hair dryer. Very comfortable mattresses. Some basic games at lobby. Good price for room if reserved early enough (6mo).

TurkeyRoom was very small and walking distance from the station was more than I expected but still not so bad.
Location in terms of going to Narita Airport without a transfer was the most important factor. The room was silent although it was very close to the railways.

PhilippinesNone that i can think of.
The location of Grids is very near the JR Ueno station it is super convinient for us to move around from one place to another since we’re using our JR pass most of the the time. The staffs were really kind and very accomodating. The room was small but very spacious even the bathroom small it was very spacious as well. The whole place very clean. The breakfast was sufficient enough for us to last until lunch though the selections were very little same breakfast everyday.

SingaporeFolding table is available but folding chairs are not provided...We understand the space constraint of the room but with folding table but no chairs are kind of weird..The air -con vanes are dirty, the space of the room is rather small for our luggage and hard to move around if luggage is open up.daily buffet spread is simple and same everyday..
Quadruple Room with Private Bathroom(Room 841),The Wifi is good, shower water temperature and pressure was excellent,air-con is working very well and good in our summer stays, room well lit, toilet is well kept and clean, near to rail but don't really heard much noise from there eventhough our window we are facing it.The yellow colour bread is very nice and fragrant too when toasted, yummy!!

United StatesThe dryer doesn’t work. Every time we used it, our clothes still came out wet. There was a group that stayed there who would take a large portion of the dining area so they can eat their breakfast while leaving the uncomfortable seats for the rest of the folks.
