Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeJust an FYI that the shuttle does not serve the Happo-One bus station so it is about a 15 minute walk away, which is not too bad but might be challenging for some people with ski gear.
Comfortable rooms, large living area and very friendly and accommodating staff. The snow was absolutely crazy whilst we were staying but the hotel was still cozy, even when we had an unexpected power outage! There is a bus stop for the shuttle bus to Hakuba 47 just outside.

United StatesIt’s a great authentic traditional Japanese experience. We stayed there for a week and really enjoyed ourselves. The host Yukio is very friendly and helpful. He dropped us off at Hakuba station when we left so we did not have to walk long distance with our heavy ski bags.

NetherlandsThe showers are just the rinsing area for the onsen (and the onsen is definitely not usable). Second to this, the sinks are just out in the corridor, so it feels very exposed with other people walking around. I would select the private bathroom option for next time. The kitchen also has a pot/kettle sitting on the stove which is filled to the brim with mould. I have no idea how this has not been thrown away, but it genuinely looks like it’s been there for years.
The property looks like it was designed for large/school groups to stay, with lots of communal spaces and a big industrial kitchen. However, it is not used for this purpose, and is just a very basic lodge. The location is directly next to one of the bus lines, however the main part of town (and all the other bus lines) is about a 15 min walk away. The owner Yukio is a very lovely bloke. We didn’t see him much, but he was very nice to take us to and from the bus station.

United StatesThe location have few shuttle bus options that covers few of the popular ski resort, however, it doesn't have a good route to the popular area such as happo bus terminal, still, it's only a 10 minutes walk and you can get to most of the popular ski resort with bus stops right in front of the door.
It was converted from a Ryokan so the atmosphere is great, it provide you with Japanese traditional hotel vibe while offering some modern facilities and a great public area. The owner yukio san is also caring and very helpful. The Italian restaurant in this facility is very good.

AustraliaPrivate bathroom was seperate from the room itself (need to walk out into hallway to access). Not a reason not to stay, but just be aware when booking,.
Yukio (Manager) was a wonderful host. Very helpful and hospitable. The hotel is great value for money. Very comfortable room. Cooking & Laundry facilities. Yukio also runs a little Italian restaurant just outside the hotel which is delicious and good for an easy dinner at the end of the day. Would stay here again!

AustraliaEnhanced: Nikki embodies warmth and hospitality, consistently ensuring guests' comfort. Situated conveniently for snow enthusiasts, with a bus stop right outside, this location is ideal for winter getaways. If you seek tranquility after a day on the slopes, this place is perfect. I would certainly revisit and book again if I return.

ChinaThe place was going through some small upgrades so the onsen was not available and the fire pit was also not in service. They are in the process of completing their work so hopefully, these nice amenities will be available for the coming guests.
Traditional looking minshuku that was very clean and had a very large professional grade kitchen for me to make my meals. Nikki was a fantastic host helping me navigate Hakuba (food recommendations, buses to and from the difference resorts). She was kind enough to take me to the grocery store to stock up on supplies. The laundry facility was very helpful for me to clean and dry my gear. The Italian restaurant on the property was also a great little initimate and cosy place to have a very solid and honest meal.

GermanyI think it is a bit pricey for the fact that no breakfast is included. Some sort of dinner option would be wonderful as everything seems to be booked out quickly in Hakuba.
Nikki, the host, is incredibly friendly, helpful, kind and always available to answer questions, provide help and makes sure everything is fine etc. She made me feel extremely welcome and even offered me a ride in her free time when she noticed I needed help. The common area is in a typical Japanese style and is spacious, the dining hall is well heated and the kitchen has everything you ever need for cooking. My room was decent in size and very clean (good heating). The house has a good location - not too far from anything but you need to walk a little to reach ski resorts, bus terminal, train station, grocery store etc. I enjoyed my stay very much!!!!

AustraliaThe place needs a bit of general upkeep and a spring clean. The indoor onsen has some tiles broken and is out of operation which is understandable though looking back through reviews, it appears it was broken last winter season as well. There is no soap provided to wash yourself in the shower area, and the shelves to place your clothes/toiletries are all very dusty except for the ~4 that get used by guests. The vending machine was out of order during our visit and it was hit or miss with whether a member of staff would be available at the desk. While potentially out of the accommodation's control, we woke up on our second morning to find there was a power outage overnight and all of the central heating had shut down leaving the whole building freezing in the middle of winter. Additionally, this power outage affected the hot water system which I found out when I tried to take a shower (using my own soap this time) before checking out.
Our host Yukio was the highlight for our stay and his warm welcome as we checked in late to the accommodation was well received. The accommodation is in a good spot for two of the bus lines though neither of them go to the closest resort, Happo One, which was notable for us. The building looked picturesque in the fresh snow from the outside.

Yukio’s place is exceptional. He went above and beyond for our entire trip with tips, rides, and heating up the epic sauna. Super comfy beds in a massive room. Loved the bathroom and bath looking out over the snow. Epic shared kitchen - would be great for groups. The location is perfect as it sits between Echoland and happo so you can walk 10-15 minutes in each direction for great food. There’s a shuttle outside for 47, Goryu, and Happo. The only buses you’d need to walk to would be for cortina and Tsugaike. Amazing stay. Will be going back again.

United StatesNothing. The location is a little walk ( 15 mins) from the train station, but offers amazing views of the countryside.
Yuwai is superb accommodation that is well managed by an amazing host who went out of his way to drive us to a restaurant during a rain storm, and cooked us excellent Italian pizzas. The rooms are spacious with a large common area on the first level. Washers, dryers and a brand new sauna with cold barrel plunge are all available. We took advantage of the sauna after a hike. Felt amazing. I would highly recommend this property and we will return when visiting Hakuba!

The host Nikki is an amazing person who speaks great English. An extremely nice person who was always around to help and made the place feel like a home. Plenty of shared space to eat, cook, drink and socialize with other guests. The rooms are larger then most, heaps of space for clothes and skiing equipment along with great views of the mountains.

Nikki who oversees the guests stay is a very kind and approachable. She brings the accommodation to life. Thankyou for your hospitality!!! Rooms are large/clean and there is space to store your ski gear. Definitely recommend this accommodation! The local free shuttle bus stops next door (Pal House) alternatively it is a 15min walk to the moutain.
