Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomUnique hotel in an amazing location literally across the street from the memorial building and the lovely peace park. Great experience, it felt very traditional, but it definitely needs some investment in the decor, looking quite worn.

AustraliaThe Japanese style sleeping is new to me, so that takes a bit of getting used to - not having a bouncy bed. It did however add to the experience, so while it was not super comfy (for me), I wouldn't have it any other way. It made a far more authentic experience.
The location was perfect. Being across the road from the Dome and Peace Park, we had easy immediate access. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance.

AustraliaLovely old world style Ryokan, with view of dome directly from our room on 4th floor.. private onsen style bath was nice too. Wonderful selection of Pola toiletries, including moisturiser and body lotions. The room is exceptional, very large.. 12 tatami mats with Futon beds which you set up yourself. Tea set and small cake were waiting for us, and even at check-in, a small origami heart with chocolate was a sweet touch. Breakfast was very generous. Cook at the table eggs and sausage. Hiroshima Peace Park is just a short stroll, and a shopping arcade with great restaurants is close by, as is the Miyajima Island ferry terminal, so it's easy to get an early start. To visit the island. It is little dated, and the private hot pool is quaint with pink tiles - but that adds to the charm. We weren't looking for a cookie cutter chain hotel. One minor negative.. carpet is very worn in places and repaired with tape, which is unsightly and could be a tripping hazard.

United StatesWe had a Japanese style room which was lovely, except that the floor mats were rather thin which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable (more uncomfortable than the other Ryokan where we stayed).
We had a view of the Atomic Bomb dome from our room. The Peace Memorial Park was across the street and the museum was within a 5 minute walk. The location was truly amazing and beautiful, right on the river. We also loved the onsen on the 7th floor. Really a treat.

BelgiumThe only slight downside was that, given the price, we expected something a bit more refined. The room showed some signs of aging, which made it feel a little less polished than anticipated. That said, for the location, service, and comfort, it's still a solid choice for a stay in Hiroshima.
Hiroshima no Yado Aioi stands out for its exceptional location—right next to the Peace Memorial Park, offering a truly unique and meaningful view. Our room was spacious, which is always a plus in Japan, and the breakfast was delicious, featuring local specialties that gave us a real taste of the region. The staff was incredibly kind and polite, making us feel welcome throughout our stay.

AustraliaWhat a fabulous family run hotel. The reception was able to help me find an excellent gluten free restaurant - no easy feat in Japan. This is a chance to really get a Japanese experience. No shoes are allowed in the hotel, you get futons to sleep on (a bit hard!) and your get a Japanese robe to wear to the public bath. The location is stunning - just across the road from the Atomic dome. I owuld highly recommend.

United KingdomA little bit worn out here and there, like little cracks older carpet. not a huge deal, not a deal at all for us, but still noticeable.
Stayed with wife for 2 nights. Breakfast was very very nice, with tiny bbq type thingy. Views obviously very cool (although sad). Japanese style room for a first time visitor to Japan was also very good. Location obviously is 10/10

SloveniaThe hotel has some things that are a bit outdated, but nothing too serious.
The hotel enjoys a great location, just metres from the tram stop and Hiroshima Dome. There are shops nearby, as well as excellent restaurants/bakeries. The room is very spacious, and there are plenty of shampoo and toiletries in the bathroom. The hotel has very friendly staff.
