Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FinlandCan’t recommend enough. It is one of those places that doesn’t need to be perfect to still be one of the best stays of a trip. The atmosphere, surroundings, and service all gave me the coziest vibe, and if I’m ever back in Fukuoka, this is where I’ll stay.

CanadaI needed to be on the top bunk. I know I had no control.of which bed I could be placed at. The person on the top was loud in their movement and snored. :( Otherwise, the stay was very good!
the décoré was charming, many traditional objects, pictures as well as some modern. The facility was great. I so appreciate the use of the kitchen!

AustraliaIt would be helpful to communicate with guests when to turn off lights in the dormitory room (e.g "10pm curfew")because I found that with other dormmates, some were very reserved and kept to themselves the whole time without a word. While I do appreciate everyone respectfully spending time alone, this made it difficult to approach others and ask whether I could turn off the lights for nighttime sleeping.
Lovely and kind hosts who were attentive and answered any questions I had. The accommodation is also in a fantastic location to explore Fukuoka with ease. Very clean facilities and I also had a delight of meeting other solo travellers! I absolutely adored Fukuoka and will be sure to visit again in the future. Thank you so much for looking after me. ありがとうございました! Be mindful to also pay the Fukuoka city tax (per night) upon arrival.

GermanyThe rooms were a little bit cramped. I left my laundry in the machine for half a day because I didn't have time to be there for the entire 90 minute process in the morning, which apparently was a rather big problem, even though it didn't seem like the other machines were occupied. I have no problem following common rules in order not to inconvenience others, but this could really be communicated more effectively upfront. I also wasn't a big fan of the arbitrary usage restriction of the common area after midnight. If someone wants to disturb others sleep they can just do so in the sleeping area, so I really don't see the point. Not being allowed to just sit on a chair after 12 is just weird. Also another minor qualm: please provide earplugs, at least at an additional charge. I think every hostel should do this.
Located very centrally in Hakata. The shared rooms are very clean and it seems like an effort was made to keep beds and doors from creaking too much. The shared area was nice, and the interior design was pleasant in general. There's also a washing room, which is a comfortable alternative to an outside coin laundry, although the drier is a little bit weak. Staff were also friendly, and even let me check in 15 minutes late after I missed the bus (although they were understandably not that thrilled about it).

PhilippinesThe guesthouse was centrally located and just a couple of mins walk away from spots like the Kushida shrine and shopping complexes like Canal city. The only con I could think of is the fact that showers arent allowed from midnight onwards which can be a bummer if you stay out late but other than that, everything’s pretty good.

United KingdomTowels were not included and bed was traditional mat so very firm. I know some people like this but it was a bit hard for me. You also have to make your own bed on arrival and strip the sheets before you leave.
The location of this hostel is great - super close to public transport and very central. The room was small but this is to be expected, it was a nice bonus that there was a small sitting area in the room so I could do some work from there. When there were all four of us in the room, it was tight but most of the time there weren't many people around. Showers and toilets were very clean and nice.

United StatesOne of the more social places I have stayed in while in Japan while balancing mutual calm and respect between guests. There is a kitchen area to cook or store food. Free coffee mixes and little snacks are provided. The staff are very nice, and the facilities are EXTREMELY clean (as one can expect from Japan).

PhilippinesI was surprised by the additional tax they collect upon check in, and towel use not being free but it's not something that ruins your stay. Each guesthouse has their own policy so it's okay. It all goes down to your luck, if you get rowdy roommates who are noisy at night.
Facilities are good. Clean, spacious, and has traditional aesthetic. Location is ideal for tourists too. near shrines and subway stations.
