If you want to stay in a 140 year old authentic traditional Japanese house this is the place to go! The owner is super friendly and helpful. We had an amazing stay and would like to return next time. Please treat him and the house with respect. Everything was great! Thank you very much!

It’s a hostel with shared bathrooms, but everything is very nice and clean, with great attention to detail and tasteful decor. There’s a café on the ground floor where you can enjoy a snack in the afternoon. Getting there by car was a bit tricky due to a very narrow street, but overall, it was a great stay. I would definitely come back!

It would be nice if the hotel offered breakfast. Since it's a quiet, sleepy town we found it difficult to find breakfast options nearby

This hotel was absolutely wonderful! We stayed there from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day and the staff were extremely hospitable. They booked us a local izakaya for Christmas dinner and organised a Ghibli-themed taxi for us when we left for the park. The room I stayed in was wonderfully decorated and the beds were genuinely more comfortable than my one at home. We chose to stay here to have a nice and affordable experience before heading to the Ghibli Park and it was perfect. This hotel is absolutely worth the money and made for a lovely stay.

If you'd like to stay in a japanese inn with a rustic vibe you should try this one. They offer bunk beds (male&female dormitory) and private rooms too. The inn itself have a cafe bar available during the night. Guest are free to use their library if you want to study or simply wants to chill while looking at the view outside. The night ambiance was superb! ほんまに日本らしいい!最高!😍😍😍

Great experience to stay in this guest house. The interior decorations are simple rusty and blended in the guest house. I would strongly recommend this place if you passing through.

The atmosphere was nice, the staff were kind and even stayed late to talk with us, very friendly, good service, best place to stay if you want the experience of a Japanese style Inn. They even recommended us Chita Japanese Whiskey which was extremely good. Will stay again next time, hopefully for longer.

A beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood. Seto had more to offer than I anticipated and the staff were kind enough to point out the places worth visiting. The house had a lot of character. You can hear other people walk around but at night everyone was very considered. The garden is also a lovely bonus. I would definitely stay again ^_^

Maskukichi is such a sweet little place to stay. Has a traditional feel but is very comfortable. The staff were so kind and thoughtful, and did everything possible to help us with any questions. It’s a short walk to cafes and shops, just be aware that almost nothing is open until around 10am, so best to have your breakfast food on you as they don’t serve breakfast.

The room wasn't very soundproof, and the sheet under duvet system isn't my favourite, although I can't fault it as it was a comfortable stay.

The location was great, only a short walk to anything you might want. The availability of a bar is great to have without leaving the property. A nice cozy feel to the place without lots of hangout areas inside and out.

    Nothing! Everything was great :)

We loved our stay here! The staff were super friendly and welcoming and explained all of the facilities really well. We also received recommendations for dinner and breakfast spots in the area which was very helpful! We ended up going to the udon restaurant we were recommended. The room itself was also very clean, had a heater which was great as the room was a little chilly and was overall very cosy.

It would make sleeping more comfortable if there was a humidifier. Since you would need the air conditioner running full power to keep the room warm, the air gets super dry making sleeping difficult.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very nice facilities.

As soon as I walked in I felt welcomed by the staff. Minami-chan was so kind and told me all about local places to check out, including where to get dinner and breakfast. There is also a cafe at the guest house and it was a comfortable area to relax outside of my room. The decor and architecture of the home are traditional and modern at the same time. It’s so beautiful, warm and charming!!
