Pillows were very soft. This was our only complaint. Everything else was fantastic.

My family loved our stay here and were sad to leave. Beautiful, traditional-style guesthouse, with our own external courtyard. Located along the old Nakasendo, amidst lots of old shops. Just across the street from a traditional confectioner’s and sake brewery.

    We liked everything

We loved everything. The place is so beautiful and located on the Nakasendo. The little neighbourhood is very cute. The garden was a magic touch. The beds were very comfortable. Although breakfast at the cafe was delicious. We loved our stay. My daughter said that it was her dream house.

    Nothing, everything was great!

We had the whole house for ourselves. It was old and pretty. Comfortable too. It was on the Nakasendo way, we loved it!

Great place. You have the place for yourself, so it is especially good for larger groups. Kitchen, living room, a lot of space. Also a great start for Nakasendo if you are planning to go. Do not take a bus to Magome, instead, start walking from Ochiai (中山道石標), so you won't miss the cobblestone path.

We stayed here during our trip to Magomejuku. The living room, stocked with plenty of board games, was a delightful bonus for our family. The bunk beds were a hit with my kids as well, though naturally, they weren’t as comfortable or spacious as those in a good hotel. Walking through the beautifully preserved old streets in the neighborhood was also a real joy.

The bedroom is wholly occupied by the two bunk beds. The bunk beds are basically wooden containers with a single opening on one side (the opening is half the side). It's claustrophobic and the smell of wood is pungent. The WC is not smart and it's on the other side of the small garden. They provide only one towel per person and there are no hooks to hang them. There is no storage space for clothes and you have to keep them in your luggage in the living room on the ground floor (the bedroom is up a tiny staircase).

Lovely accommodation in a 130-year hundred old renovated house. The living room opens on a small green inner garden with a small pond. The kitchen is tiny but fully equipped. Everything is very clean. Indeed the entrance is at the back of a coffee shop, but apart from being weird it is no big deal. The surrounding area has traditional buildings and restaurants are not far away. There is a parking place around the corner and it's free of charge.

Very unique property with central Japanese garden. Great for a large group. The surrounding neighborhood is very traditional; part of the old Nakasendo trail.

The beds weren’t exactly comfy. More like a capsule type of bed. But overall if you are looking for new experiences, this is one.

It was in an old town. Peaceful and quiet. The house itself was unique as it operates as a cafe during the day.

the toilet was only accessible via a pathway that was open to the elements. this was really cold during the period we visited. the beds were also only available via a rather steep staircase which may not be suitable if you are less mobile.

the space was amazing and was literally a house that we had all to ourselves. everything was really comfortable and each person has a capsule bed like space for themselves. would recommend.

We were tired when we arrived. There was a pamphlet of places to eat but we didn't see it until the morning.

The amount of space was fantastic. Very welcoming staff upon arrival. The combination of old and new was very well done. The garden in the back gave a great ambiance. The neighborhood it was located in was very interesting,
