Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ThailandThe hotel location is in the walking street, so it might not be available for car pickup in some time.

United StatesWe really enjoyed our one night here. Unfortunately we arrived after 5:00 pm and had to be at the airport by 8:00 am, so we were not able to enjoy much that this town had to offer. However, the staff of the hotel were wonderful and the facilities were superb. I am also glad we decided to pay for the very expensive, but unique and absolutely beautiful Kaiseki dinner. I am definitely going to recommend this inn to my friends who are willing and able to pay a premium price for luxury.

United StatesThe dining times for breakfast and dinner could be more flexible.
I loved the traditional Japanese room design with modern amenities. Staff were very helpful and professional. Location was perfect, near the temple. Not too long a taxi ride from Narita Airport. You really get immersed in Japanese culture here, and I would recommend everyone start their trip in this area before travelling to Tokyo. I travelled all over Japan and Naritas temple was one of the best ones I visited, only second to the one in Nara.

I chose this hotel so that I would be close to the Narita airport for my flight. One of the most beautiful temples is nearby and their gardens were exquisite. The staff was so helpful. I received a full Japanese breakfast. They also have a small onsen that I enjoyed, followed with Acupuncture and Massage in my room.

AustraliaWe booked at the last minute due to a flight cancellation, which meant we were unable to order dinner or breakfast (the hotel needs 48 hours notice).
The room, the staff and the onsen were lovely.

United StatesThere was nothing not to like.
This hotel was excellent. It is very close to airport, 20 min by taxi, 2 stops on metro. It has a traditional Japanese feel and the staff is wonderful. Also, it’s located in a charming traditional town. If you are there on weekend, they close down the street for the community to walk. It’s lovely.

SwitzerlandBreakfast was excellent and the staff very kind. Proximity to airport (short taxi ride) and large Buddhist temple down the street. A tourist town - exclusively Japanese tourists was really interesting.

United StatesApparently they charge per head & I was charged an additional $166 for my spouse, because apparently I only put the hotel was for 1 person. Being that I had already paid $486.90 for the room, I felt the extra fee was excessive.
The hotel is very clean and comfortable and the staff is very nice. Free drinks are great too.

AustraliaThe authentic experience meant I chose a room with a futon. At 60, and following a week of skiing, getting up and down off the floor nearly killed me. Also, futons are not very thick for those like me who were not aware of this. My fault.
The property is stunning and truly traditional and beautiful. Recently fully renovated. The breakfast had 17 small dishes. A great taste way to try many traditional foods. Had no idea what I was eating most of the time. 😆 Location is first class. 2min walk from beautiful temple. Street closed for month of January so easy walking, lots of shops, stalls and restaurants. The onsen experience inside the hotel is also beautiful with a super relaxing hot pool/bath.

Spacious room - so clean, huge bathroom including bath and separate shower, separate toilet. Excellent facilities such as a Nespresso machine, Dyson hairdryer, mini bar. Beds were so comfortable in the triple room, low to the ground but soft and warm. Great location and friendly staff.

United StatesThe hotel was beautiful and staff super friendly and helpful. There is a welcome drink/tea a little before check-in. The course meal for dinner was a lot of food and was very local and seasonal. I had arrived in the morning well before check-in and was able to drop off my luggage. After checkout I was also able to leave my luggage as I explored the area more.
