The room is very spacious. The Japanese "feel" was so refreshing. It was really nice staying there as it's not far from the station. The staffs are also very friendly and the breakfast was very delicious. Lastly, it was our first time staying at an accommodation with onsen. It is private so you can really enjoy your bath.

The room was large and comfortable, but I wish that it had a view (my view was a wall with some potted plants).

The staff are very responsive and good service! The owner had an emergency when I arrived and couldn't pick me up but it was no biggie as it was a 10 min walk from the train station. He sent me to Mount Omuro the next day without charge. There was also a hiccup that I couldn't take a bath during my booked time slot but he took me to a nearby bath house instead. It was a good experience! I enjoyed dinner and breakfast - it was a feast!

Exceptional place, this ryokan is in traditional style as expected. Very good breakfast and don't forget to take a chance and order a kaiseki dinner. Hot spring baths can be reserved for private use for a maximum of 1 hour and several times a day. The staff was very kind and met me at the station and even picked me up to go to a zoo to see cute capybaras. There is a very good spot nearby, "Tajima Falls," that you must see. Fully enjoyed the time in Hinodeya!

It was the best stay during this trip to Ito. The first impression starts from pick up service from the Izukyu-Kogen station, they literally waited for me at least 40 mins prior to my planned arrival, as I caught the train earlier than expected, but they were ready to pick me up despite of the uninformed change. The staff are really friendly and they are able to communicate in English. Luggage storage were available, my luggage was directly being sent to my room after depositing with them before check-in. The room was so cozy that I regretted I only booked for one night. I would say the actual room looks much better than the photos on Booking.com. Even though toilet and bathroom are shared, they were very clean and all necessary amenities are available. The shared bathroom is the next point that caught me, the reservation system is brilliant and easy to use. You will occupy the entire bathroom during your booking slots and free hot bath is inside the bathroom. Free yukata was available too, you are allowed wear it out of the hotel if you want to. They also send me to the station after check-out and it was quite late after my half day trip to somewhere else after depositing my luggage with them (which is around 7.30pm, the sky totally turns dark and it was freezing out there). MaxValue (or also known as Aeon in my country) is just nearby and start operating at 7am, and bus stations located nearby, the location is quite accessible. I do not have enough time to explore their lobby facilities (some games, massage chair, free drinks). Will definitely recommend staying at this ryokan for more than 1 night.

Need to share toilet with other residents but it is clean so it's fine. The light switch is outside the room so it's a little bit inconvenient.

Staff are super nice and they provide extraordinary good service. The owner is super friendly and he even offered rides to famous spots and to the JR station. The room is big and comfortable. There is a private bathroom for お風呂. Breakfast is good.

Provision of shuttle bus services is quoted in the booking website. However it could not be arranged during some time slots which I had no idea until I made the request. As the ryokan is not located next to the train station, it would be difficult to plan ahead the check-in time and the alternative is either to take a taxi or wait.

The unlimited supply of coffee, the cleanliness of the shared toilet and public bath. The free ride to the train station provided by the ryokan after our check-out.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The host was very nice and helpful, giving us a free ride to a tourist destination and taking us to the train station when we left. Sharing a bathroom wasn’t an issue since we reserved it online. The facilities were super clean, and the location is excellent—just a few minutes' walk from the train station, convenience stores, and a supermarket. It’s super value for money! Highly recommend!

The room was very big with a little balcony. We had a wonderful tatami mat room with futon beds. It felt so traditional and comfortable. A dream come true. We looooved the onsen. We booked it daily to use it on our own for half an hour or an hour. Everthing was clean, nicely furnitured. The room where everyone got together has a gaming console, games, massage chair, flyer for things to do. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved it here. We will surely come again! :)

Can be a little loud but not an issue with earplugs.

I absolutely loved my stay at Hinodeya Ryokan!! The futon was comfortable as long as you’re a back sleeper like me. The hosts would also bring hot water to your room which was stocked with green tea. I throughly enjoyed the bath and it was easy to reserve online. The facilities were very clean and I noticed that the trashes were taken out daily. The breakfast was filling and unique! I chose the Japanese style breakfast and enjoyed the fish and cooking my own egg. The host also gave me a complimentary ride to the train station when it was time to leave. I would definitely stay here again!

    Nothing!

Hinodeya is a short walk from the train station and the staff offer to pick you up and drop you off. If you walk, they provide a detailed YouTube video and there are street signs along the way. The rooms are spacious, clean, and the bedding is fresh and comfortable. Great heating and a little tv too. Plenty of western toilets available at Hinodeya and there are two bathrooms (with shower and bath). One bathroom is for 3-4 people while the other is 1-2. They have a reservation system for the bathrooms and it is very easy to book. I would recommend setting yourself an alarm when using the bath though. They also provide all amenities and they are good quality. My favourite thing about my stay were the complimentary shuttles to different places we wanted to visit - Jogasaki and Mt Omuro.

    Everything was great.

The place was very nice, warm, spacious and comfortable. The lobby had lots of homey decorations and things to do, we loved the massage chair. Great possibility to book an on-site onsen so it basically becomes your private onsen for an hour. The owner went above and beyond to help us with our itinerary, helping us with some calls and driving us. Thank you very much, we appreciate it a lot!

There are lovely onsen baths and showers that can be booked, but some travelers may find it odd to not be able to quickly take a shower without a reservation. We did not have an issue though as the baths were typically available when we wanted to use them and the booking was very easy.

Our room was very large and clean (including cleaning during the day while we were out). The baths are easy to book online and the other amenities such as a massage chair, board games and free coffee / tea during the day were great. We ate breakfast one morning at the stay, which was beautifully presented and affordable in price. As English speakers with limited vocabulary in Japanese, the staff was very accommodating and easy to communicate with.

The only two things that were difficult for me were not really their fault: - since I stayed in winter (December) the room was very dry because of the heater AC so it was hard for me to breath. I have asthma so it was tough. I asked if they had any humidifiers but they didn’t, so I went to Daiso down the road to pick one up and sleep with it next to my face to survive the night. - sleeping on the futon on the tatami floor isn’t the most comfortable so my body was a bit achey. But that’s understandable since I’m simply not used to that.

I had such a lovely stay! Some of the staff were Taiwanese so communication was no problem in English and Chinese. Very friendly! Also the owner (I think) was accommodating and let me use the Onsen outside of the reservation times because there were not many guests at the time. The onsen was very relaxing and the online booking system for it was easy and convenient. My tatami room was very cute and cozy and they made my stay very comfortable with providing hot water thermal pot refills and answering any questions I had. The breakfast was delicious and held in the dining hall with other guests at 8am. The owner was kind enough to even play a projection video in English when I arrived to eat since he knew I was an English speaker. I felt very included! Everything was clean and tidy. Well kept and organized. They have a great system going here. The cherry on top was they had a PS5 which I enjoyed playing!! There’s some restaurants down the road and a super market too so very convenient. A close walk to the coastline where you can go hiking with a gorgeous view! At my checkout, the owner so kindly offered to drop me off at the station too. Very kind! I had a wonderful stay!

Ryokan is very clean and well kept, but the facilities are on the older side. Service was also a touch more hands off than some of the other ryokan we stayed in on our trip, which is to be expected at this price point. It also overlooks a main road, though the noise in our experience was quite minimal.

Gigantic room which could comfortably have fit about 8 people. Staff were very accommodating, and were kind enough to give us a lift to the Jogasaki coast on our departure. Quality of the meals was excellent, and proportions were extremely generous. We thought the online system for booking out time in the baths was efficient and easy to use, and certainly better than the first-come first-served system that seems to dominate elsewhere.

The room was so big for the price my two friends and I paid and the facilities were great. We could reserve a specific bath time and there’s a cozy lobby area. But above all, the owner was so kind. He recommended going to Mt. Omuro which we didn’t even know about and he offered to drive us there. When we were coming back down from the mountain that had an amazing view of fuji by the way, we realized we couldn’t make the bus we were planning on taking, so he also kindly picked us up and drove us back to the train station. This is the best hospitality I have ever received anywhere and I will definitely be coming back again!
