Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe staff are exceptional. Very helpful for someone like me with limited Japanese. They were extremely accommodating considering how short a notice I gave them for checking in. The breakfast option is very good value and I would recommend to anyone who wishes to stay here.

SwitzerlandOverall great, but it's also "standard" for the price you pay so it's up to you whether you'd rather go for a smaller but cheaper room in another hotel or if you're fine going with a bigger budget.
Great location, just a 10 minute walk away from Nagoya station. Room is quite spacious and so is the bathroom.

AustraliaThe person in charge at the front reception desk was unfriendly, she wasn't customer orientated. We arrived around 12noon and asked if we could leave our luggage until checkin - this was fine and then we left to have some lunch. On the day of checkin it was pouring rain and we got caught in the rain and were absolutely soaked when we came back to reception. This was at 2.15 and checkin is at 3pm. I asked if the room was ready could we check in early as we were both freezing and soaking wet. The lady in charge told us that we couldn't check in early but if we paid her 2000yen she could let us into our room - she also said that this fee had to be in cash as it couldn't be charged to our room. If I didn't pay the 2000 yen she was quite happy for us to wait another 45 mins and by this time we were so cold that we were both shaking - she definitely lacked empathy and could see that we were soaking wet, cold and shaking but she had no sympathy for either of us - we are 66 years old and were in need of a hot shower. I have never been refused an early check in ever, especially when it was only 45minutes. I wouldn't stay at any JAL hotel again after this experience. We were in Japan for 19 days and this was the only negative experience in our accommodation in 5 cities on our holiday.
We did not pay for breakfast

SwedenIn this price class you expect a certain standard and this hotel for sure lived up to our expectation. The Hotel is located on walking distance from railway station and close to city center. Nagoya is one of my favorite cites with a lot of air.

Located in a lovely part of town that between Nagoya Station and Sakae, it’s a great place to stay if you enjoy strolling.

United StatesI wish they had a laundry room.
The hotel room has decent space for a Japanese hotel room. We enjoyed a Japanese style bath. We arrived much earlier than the check in time. They held our belongings at the front desk for us and let us complete check in process ahead of time. When we returned in the early evening to head to the room, staff gave our card keys and told us that our luggages were already in our room. They provided great service throughout our stay.

SingaporeRoom is dusty, can see the dust at the corners of the table. The fabric chair is off white, can see the stain. Feel itchy after sitting on it.
Location is fine. Though not in the major shopping area, there are eateries and convenience stores nearby. Less than 5 mins walk to the bus stop for bus to airport.

PhilippinesThere weren't shopping malls nearby but the location was accessible to both ends (Nagoya station and Sakae, Mitsukoshi area).
The room is very spacious. It's big for Japan size. Our room even had pull out bed (but we only found out on our last night of stay). The staff were accommodating and can speak good English. They help you with your questions and concerns. The hotel is also very accessible or easy to go to the airport since it's the first stop of the airport bus. You just have to walk a block away and easy pick up versus bus or cab to Nagoya station then train. It has a good izakaya place across and a Ministop nearby.
