How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The room space is quite small for fitting two opened large luggages. The quilt is a bit worn.
The location is good, which is near the train station.

it would have been good to have more options for hot beverages (only green tea was available)

There was a weird sound that happened at 6am both mornings that I was there. The reception is tiny, and it can be difficult if you have lots of luggage.
The receptionist was very nice. the room is very clean, as is the bathroom. location is great - I was able to just walk down the street and explore the Asakusa temple area at 7am and it was very quiet.

No restroom in lobby to fresh up. Only because I had overnight flight before. But staff was helpful to let me leave the luggage and placed it in the room before I checked in.

Didn’t really like the material on the quilt as I have sensitive skin. I think the placement of the fridge closer to the door would have been better as I could hear the fridge noise next to the bed. But overall very nice place!
staff were friendly, I like that fresh towels were hung outside the door in the morning

I can't really think of anything, to be honest. That's how happy I was with my stay.
I absolutely loved the location, most of all! But the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating whenever I needed something. Despite putting DND on my door, they still thought to leave a fresh set of towel each day of my stay. Even the room was exceptional, the bed was comfortable and the washroom was clean. Also the fact that the hotel had an elevator was chef's kiss for me.

The room needs to aired out—felt stuffy. If you have a big suitcase don’t come here. If you are coming to Tokyo for a special time—spend the extra money and get a better place. The room is just for sleeping. If you are broke this room is good.

There are some very small cosmetic issues with the room (some peeling wallpaper, stains on the carpet) but still clean and reasonable for the price.
The staff were incredibly nice and helpful and let me store my luggage there before my departing flight. The location is about a 5 min walk to the metro station that I used to get everywhere. Lots of free amenities (all shower supplies, robes, fresh towels daily, tea, a clothes steamer and kettle in the room). Greta value for a very low price, highly recommend.

We specifically requested a non-smoking room and while the check-in staff confirmed that we in fact did have a non-smoking room, it smelt absolutely terrible with all the plastic in the room a yellow colour indicating that it either has been, or still is a smoking room. Additional to this the bed was actually broken and dipped in the corner by about 10cm which had to be propped up by the hotel staff with two folded up blankets.
The location of the property was good and the staff were very friendly.

Very small room, especially the bathroom. There were three different people at the reception during our stay, and none of them were accommodating. We tried asking for help/ questions, but they just said they did not know or "Google."
Great location - close to Sensoji temple and Ginza/Asakusa train stations.

Comfortable location and conveniently close to Ginza and Asakusa lines. Lots of small shops and shopping centers nearby. Right by Senso-ji temple. Staff is extremely considerate and we were well taken care of. Small rooms but more than enough for our needs.
