Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MalaysiaRoom was a little small and hard to move around with 2 people. Coffee by machine tasted ok whereas the instant wasn't that great. Pillows were too flat to sleep on.
Essential amenities all provided including new sets of pajama every night. Location is so strategic, just right in front of Takayama station and I love taking the stroll to Boss Supermarket and Daily Yamazaki convenience store nearby. Kudos to your staff for recommending these stores. Very clean environment.

TurkeyThe breakfast hall is very tiny and it’s very tedious to move inside when it’s busy.
The location was very convenient because of its proximity to the train station and restaurants. The onsen was very clean although it’s pretty small.

AustraliaRooms were similar to a small Japanese business hotel. Western bedding with Japanese firmness. Language was a problem although I speak basic. We arrived half an hour before check in time and were told we would need to remove our car from the almost vacant car park and return in 30 minutes. Also couldn’t pay for the 3 nights of car parking in one go and had to return daily to pay ¥1500 for each night. Had a hard time trying to explain to the staff on the last day that I wanted to pay for my own car overnight as it was an unavailable spot (it was already there). Requested to buy breakfast daily but they were booked out. The complimentary happy hour rice and curry plus a drink was a nice touch; and within a 10 minute walk to the Old Town

SingaporeStaff were very unwelcoming. When I arrived, there was no one at the counter and nobody came despite me ringing the bell multiple times. Next day, I approached the staff to ask about cancelling one night of my stay and they appeared clueless and annoyed. Not the type of service I expect from hotel counter staff.
Very near to the train station and close by to the main street where all the nice food are at.

PhilippinesBathroom is small but it's clean and well-maintained. We booked 2 triple rooms, it's a bit hard if you have several luggages but it's not that bad. Breakfast is really good and we're able to avail the free 1 drink during the happy hour and the free curry dinner while we're there. The hotel is close to the bus and train station so it's very easy to find.

UkraineMy main pain point was the communication with them here on booking. It was bad and costed me lots of time, money and, more importantly, nerves. I wanted to cancel my booking because all buses were fully booked and I couldn’t get to Takayama. But for this I needed a reply from the hotel here, on booking. They did not replied me for a whole day and I called to check if they saw my request. However the staff said only a special person in charge of booking.com can do it and he/she is not there. I asked them to send my request as soon as the person arrives. Still no reply next day too. I called again. And explained the situation again but the person in charge of booking.com was still not there! So one more day of wait and I finally get a reply in messages here. It was a very brief and rude sentence telling me to find another way to get to their hotel. I must mention I wrote message to them very politely in Japanese as I’m fluent in it, but they replied me in English without even greetings for whatever reason! I had to promptly rearrange all of my plans and ask mother and a child who were with me to change their plans too just to come to this hotel. The stay was good, but this communication completely destroyed all of the mood.
Near the station. Looks pretty clean, various amenities, you can use their shoe drier in winter. Free drink from 18:00 to 20:00.

SingaporeA very short walk from the back of the train station. Macdonald's is just next door. Further down the road there is a mini mart. Tourist spots within town is walkable. Many eateries near the station. Check-in and out was a breeze. Staff is friendly and efficient. The room is clean, of decent size and comes with the usual toiletries. There is a TV, coffee table and chair, mini fridge and ample power outlets. Bed is comfortable. Wifi connection is great. There is also a gender segregated communal bath.

Location and facilities. A 3mins walk from the train and bus station. 15mins walk to the touristy part of Takayama. Facilities were great. Onsen bath for hotel guests. There was even free dinner (simple one) during weekdays which was a pleasant surprise. There was even massage chairs available for use by hotel guests.

AustraliaExtremely over priced hotel parking 1500 yen. There is a fair priced parking just 3 min away and costs 600 yen per night. Staff is very non responsive. We got no answers to our questions before our stay. Limited English speaking. Toilet is smaller than other prefabricated toilets we have seen around on our trip.
It was okish stay. Value for money. A drink in the evening happy hour is good.
