Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesRoom and hall on second floor had a funky odor-Maybe in the carpets? Onsen was underwhelming after the fabulous public onsen on Rebun.
Spacious room. Helpful staff. Shuttle to and from ferry.

Fantastic dinner and breakfast, a lot of options at the buffet and they served individual portions of zensai, sashimi and hotpot at dinner. The staff are friendly, professional and helpful; assisted us to get a car with a local car rental when we checked in. The room, bathroom and onsen were clean and comfortable. There is also a deck area on the rooftop. The free shuttle service to the Oshidomari ferry terminal was also much appreciated!

United StatesWe paid roughly 3x what we about what we paid to stay 10 years ago. Facilities now were only so-so by comparison. No longer an impressive dining room (see their brochure of what it used to look like). Chronically understaffed restaurant such that I wanted to bus my own table to clear the clutter. Got sick on their dinner and breakfast buffets. No uni (ok only token uni) or scallop. They hung the mirrors in the room for people about six inches shorter than me (but I’m not even tall). Paid for use of spa at checkout even though we didn’t.
Food and facilities were only fair for the price. Came back to reminisce about the hotel I used to rave about. Rishiri Island and the trip by ferry did not disappoint. If only the hotel were as awesome as the volcano and sky.

Exceptional service from the staff. Upon arrival the hotel arranged pick up from the airport - if you’re coming by ferry, it is probably not necessary as they’re directly next door (very convenient). I also appreciated the information on climbing Mt Rishiri from the very helpful lady at front desk (who also spoke fluent English). She gave us helpful tips and even arranged a bento breakfast for us to take to the mountain. The hotel arranged the transport both to and from the trailhead as well.

Absolutely perfect ! The warm and welcoming staff are the highlight of this hotel - assisted us with our hiking plans of Mt Rishiri - provided valuable information; The hotel is located within walking distance of the Kutsugata Ferry Port, a Seico Mart and a cute town with several dining options (highly recommend Miraku Ramen and Un Balloon) The hotel has a lovely onsen with multiple pools to choose from; rooms are spacious and clean with lots of amenities (including Nespresso); the hotel restaurant has a wonderful breakfast buffet filled with unique Hokkaido/ Rishiri dishes (hotel also has a dinner buffet but we didn’t try it); the hotel gift shop offered an exceptional selection of Rishiri specialities Wonderful hotel with amazing staff

JapanFriendly staff, warm and welcoming. Clean, comfortable rooms. The onsen/baths were really big, and the outdoor one was particularly nice, especially on a cooler day. Breakfast was very good, and the restaurant area had big windows and lots of natural light; I didn’t have dinner, but it looked good, too. The staff do seem to hover at breakfast, but I don’t think they’re limiting anyone from eating what they what (like other reviews have mentioned); I think that they’re just trying to reduce waste, and are trying to be helpful. Close to the Kutsugata ferry terminal for Rebun during the summer; for the main ferry terminal, they have a shuttle. The bus stop is less than 10 minutes away, walking. The town is quiet and it was a nice place to spend a couple nights.
