Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkMainly the Wifi. It goes out every 5-10 min. Signal is way to weak. The house is a little bit from the main train Station so you will take a bus to get there. DON'T TRUST GOOGLE MAPS! It will say you need to walk there, but there is a bus Station behind his house, that apparently google maps refused to use.
The room was very nice and the owner was so sweet. He walks the cutest dog aswell. The shower, bed, fridge, space and even aircondition was great Very good travel stay

AustraliaThere is some of the property that isn't usable due to it being storage for certain things. You have all the room you need really, just can sometimes feel slightly cluttered, but in the same vein it makes you feel like you're living in a real home lol.
The host is very accommodating. It is a traditional house with a shower and a bath which is nice. The rooms are also good size, and the heating works really well. The location may not be ideal for many, especially without a car, but the local bus comes each hour, and the host is willing to transport you when he has the time. Regarding location, if you want to be away from things and in a more quiet area it is perfect. You can go to the river and in a more natural area there to get away from the noise and hustle and bustle that Japan tends to have, so I liked the location for that.

SpainThe house is a bit far from everything so bring your snack or something to cook in the kitchen.
Umeno-san is the owner and host, he's a cool and nice person. I could comfortably practice my little knowledge of japanese 😜. If you want to experience something out of the busy cities, or just have a relaxing time at home, this might be your place.

United StatesThe host is such a kind and helpful person. He really made our stay something special. It felt like we were invited as honored friends instead of just guests. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were spacious and had lots of helpful amenities. The location is very private and local, but you can access Osaka via public transportation. I appreciate our stay very much thanks to the amazing host.

GermanyWhen I booked it was not properly stated that numerous people share the sleepping area which is only separated by thin and traditional Japanese paper walls and sometimes not even that, so it is more a dormitory/hostel and very basic and you sleep on the hard floor which is not for everyone.
The host is very nice and offers pick-up from the train station and to stop at a grocery store.

Czech RepublicThe place is calm, clean and has nice atmosphere. I very enjoyed the non-busy city vibes. I stayed in beautiful spatial large room with tatami floor. The owner and his dog are very kind people. He drove me to the Takatsuki station when I was leaving. And day before the landlord invited me for a delicious sushi. Thank you!

United KingdomThere's a lot to like about this place. Ideal if you're looking for a chilled out place in-between city hops, it worked for me. If you're backpacking, cycling, however you're travelling really, the place has something to offer. There isn't much within quick walking distance if you like to dine out, but the city is easily eccesible by local bus, car, bicycle etcetera, but saying that I walked it one way in an hour. Trains run in and out of the city from Osaka and Kyoto and the local bus is about five minutes from the house. Taking food with you is a good option, there are facilities at the house. The older gentleman who hosts the accommodation with his cute pomeranian is a kind considerate person, he went the extra mile to make my stay pleasant, he took me to the convenience store and to the station when it was pouring with rain.
