Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaIt was a very nice place to stay, beautiful rooms and gardens. They picked us up and dropped us off at the station which was good service that you don’t have to worry about how to get there. I have to mention the staff is a very nice man who helped us a lot of tour guiding and transport sorting for our next trip.

United StatesIf you are more than 5 feet tall, you will have to duck in multiple areas in the room with 6 beds. The ceiling beams and doorways are very short. The bathroom only has a curtain (no door), and has 2 glass showers side by side. Super interesting.
The beds were very comfortable, the area pretty and relaxing, and the hosts were great.

United StatesIt’s a bit quirky. Sort of has a Las Vegas vibe (a suggestive picture is hanging in the entrance), may not be appropriate for kids.
The area is very beautiful. The beds were very comfortable. The space in the suite was nice. We appreciated having a combo washer/dryer. The hosts were very helpful.

FranceThe bed suit for someone up to 1m85, over that it will be too small I think.
Friendly host, always available and very caring toward us. Extremely good value for money. A bit far from train station but the shuttle service on arriving and departure is great. Doing an extra trip to the lake on our departure was awesome!

AustraliaThe host Taka was exceptionally helpful. He provided information on local attractions, including navigation. The facilities were great. Fantastic outdoor entertainment areas surrounded by gardens etc. Taka also provided snacks and drinks in addition to breakfast. A big plus were the range of e-bikes (and normal bikes) available for hire. Taka had thought of everything! I highly recommend Taka's place for a traveller to stay... especially if you want a break from the busy tourist crowds in town... and you can view Mt Fuji from Taka's Street!

United KingdomWe loved it but shared space is all open, covered but open so can get cold. The double with private bathroom definitely had height limitations but we loved it. Definitely a highlight of our visit
A fantastic find, really helpful host, room was definitely quirky when you're 6'5". Loved the stuff he's collected in the open space. Really different. Breakfast and the free stuff was a lovely touch. We even saw Mt Fuji from 200m down the road. RESULT!

United KingdomThe location is a little far out unless you are willing to cycle , but there’s areas for shopping/dinner about a 15 min walk away
It was so fun to stay somewhere so quirky and different! Accommodation was beautiful especially with the garden , such amazing value for money. Our host was so kind and friendly, showing us around the local area and recommending areas for us to cycle to, even making sure we had snacks and water for our cycle!

PhilippinesArea is a bit far away, and so there's not much in terms of dining out opportunities in the neighborhood. Costs extra time to walk to the tourist stops as well.
Stay was good! It's a quiet place tucked away in Kawaguchiko, but the owner provides free transfers to and from the station. He also rents out bikes. We didn't take any, but there's a bus stop around 20~ mins away by walk, which takes you to the tourist stops. Rooms are quite unique for Japan, and so it was still worth the stay.

Unique rooms in a quiet location, 20 min walk to shops & restaurants. The owner was very accommodating with pick up and drop off, even took us to a stunning lakeside view of Fuji, for photos. Free tea, coffee, juice and snacks.

AustraliaThe towels smelled like cigarettes. Other than that this place is AMAZING.
The host - Taka is very nice, he picked us up from the station then dropped us off the next day. He also gave us all kind of drinks you can imagine in the fridge for free. He showed/drove us around where to buy groceries and restaurants around the area. We can enjoy the Mount Fuji view from in front of his house, and his backyard is so beautiful. We enjoyed our wine by sitting in the backyard with beautiful scenery.

New ZealandGiven that it is a "different" type of B&B set up, nothing really. Would suit younger guests rather than older ones with limited luggage given the access to some rooms. Again for older people, its a good "hike" to local public transport and shops/restaurants, but no reflection on the establishment who can/do provide bike hire.
The breakfast was DIY and simple with plenty of juices but no cornflakes. Its a different kind of B&B most westerner's would expect in Japan, sort of unique really, in a nice setting. Querky even, and Taka (the host) was very helpful.

ThailandIt’s a bit far from city and train station. Only taking taxi to get to the place. However, there’s about 600 meters to walk to Forest Malls for finding local restaurants.
Uniqueness of the property situated in the forest 🌳 with a sense of staying home created. It’s really nice gardening landscape.

United StatesThe ceilings were so low that we both regularly banged our heads in the bedroom. At night with no daylight it was hard to navigate to the private bathroom. The ceiling of the breakfast room was also so low that one had to crouch to get to a table. This was not apparent on the images of the rooms prior to arrival. Lastly, the head of the overhead shower was also not clean, covered with what looked like mildew. This needed some bleach, so we never turned it on to use it.
We loved the private garden. The room had a nice small terrace and seating area too, larger than average for what we had encountered.
