Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

TaiwanA bit far from the train station (around 25 minutes away by walking). Off office hour, it's very hard to contact hotel.
Food was delicious with varieties of selections. Hot spring was enjoyable, especially the outdoor hot spring.

SpainEverything was SO perfect. The room was big and in a mint state, the Onsen was very nice but the best was the staff. We went there in during our honeymoon and they even sent us a dessert gift the first night. Very friendly and helpful. Thanks for making our stay amazing.

ItalyThe hotel is something like a resort, with entertainment and public/private onsen options inside: perfect place to relax and rest a bit. Spaces are very well maintained and clean, staff is very nice. The dinner and breakfast are buffet, with a variety of options also for vegetarians. Vegans may not find much to eat, though. If you go with public transport, there is a dial bus connecting to the train station, which however is not included in the Nikko pass.

MalaysiaWhen we checked in, the reception took our passports for photocopying. Unfortunately, they missed returning one of the passports. After we checked out and reached our next stop, we realized that one passport was missing, and we had to go back to the hotel to retrieve it, which was inconvenient.
The hotel is fantastic! The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with great facilities like karaoke and a game center. I stayed with my family (14 people in total), and the hotel was kind enough to arrange a private room for us for both dinner and breakfast. The buffet-style meals were very delicious and satisfying. The onsen was excellent, and the view from it was stunning, right next to the Kinugawa River. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, even assisting us with taking photos.

ThailandThe room is quite old. I think that's the only point I would recommend for improvement. If so, I think it would be one super hotel in Kinugawa.
Well-trained staff and friendly even speaking English is limitation for some but they tried to support us everything. Also I love private onsen bath it is so great and feeling comfort. Half-board package is great idea it made us to not need to find any foods & drink outside.

ThailandCheck-out time. Would be nice and more relaxed if the check-out time will be at 11am.
The staffs were so efficient and full of service mind. They were also more flexible with foreign guests than other typical Japanese Onsen Hotels. Breakfast and dinner were good. Onsen was very good as well.

AustraliaFuton and pillow not the most comfortable. Only way to get to the hotel is via walking, taxi, or special hotel bus. The bus leaves at particular times of the day. To return to the station, you need to ask the staff to book it for you.
We had a large room with a wonderful view of the river. The staff, especially in reception, were warm and helpful. Dinner and breakfast buffets are superb. Great variety. Food is refreshed efficiently and staff clear tables efficiently. I like how they prepare your futon whilst you're at dinner. The onsen baths are great. They swap over for the morning, so you can experience both areas. There's free non-alcoholic drinks in the lounge throughout the day.

PortugalLocation is a bit far from Nikko station. You need to either rent a car or take a taxi, but I really recommend getting a car for your visit to Nikko area. Great stuff to see that you won't reach without it.
Best hotel I stayed in my trip to Japan. Incredible. Very spacious and comfortable. Super clean. Big place that even has simple, but cool night entertainment. The dinner buffet was some of the best meals we had in Japan, great quality. Samegoes for breakfast. The onsen was also the best we stayed in Japan, with 5 pools. You have a river with a waterfall from the balcony of your room. Leave the window slighty open to sleep to the sound of it. Guests wear yukata and kimono at all times. Full of japanese people, not many foreign tourists. Great experience.
