How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We enjoyed our stay. No complaints!
Great location, large and spacious room, and friendly service. The unit we had was the most spacious accommodation we had in Tokyo. The staff was very helpful and the unit had everything we needed to make it enjoyable with two small children. We appreciated the kitchen, large bathroom, and extra sitting room. The boys loved the amount of televisions we had in the space!

We were upgraded to the large traditional family suite (approx. name). This was a large room, easily sleeping 4 3, and 2-3 more could be accommodated if necessary. Included a washer dryer, small kitchen, with utensils, and a microwave and toaster oven. There was a breakfast table for 6. Location was nice, right on the Ginza line - 3 stops to Ueno Park, 5 stops os Akihabara, and about 8 stops to Tokyo station/Ginza. The staff were happy to keep our bags for day after checkout, so we could come get them on the way to the airport.

A very minor detail: the automatic light in the corridor leading to the toilets. It switches on too easily and is disturbing, particularly at night.
Large room, well above Tokyo standards. With a kitchenette and everything to prepare meals or breakfast if needed. Modern and well maintained hotel, welcoming and helpful staff. The location on top of the subway station (Ginza line) is perfect to allow trips to anywhere in Tokyo. It was our first time here and in this area, but for sure we'll stay here again when we return to Tokyo.

Great location - subway 5 minute walk. Lots of local shops and places to eat, and a good local market nearby to get supplies (staff will give you directions) Easy walk to the Asakusa “tourist” area - or 1 stop on the subway. Room was spacious, with kitchenette, microwave, toaster, crockery and cutlery, made it easy to eat in occasionally. Nice to have somewhere to relax at the end of a big day! Beds were comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Nothing. We loved it.
It is our second time stay here, we got upgraded to more spacious room, the room was big and super clean, the location was next to station and convinience store, there are also great cafe in front of the hotel with great breakfast menu. The kitchen facilities was complete for basic cooking, we can do the laudry in make up room. The bathroom was big. The staff super helpfull and nice.

It's my second time in Koko Hotel, the place just a walk away from Tawaramachi st. And convinience store.. There are cafe near Hotel. Our room have been upgraded so we got a very nice Japanese style room. The staff was so helpfull, we manage to send our luggage to hotel when we are going to sapporo first. And They allow us to keep our luggage while we are traveling to other city (but we have another booking at Koko after et traveling).

Fantastic location for our family - the hotel was about 100 metres from Tawaramachi metro station, one stop from Asaskusa on the Ginza line, so it was perfect to be able to get to wherever we needed to go. It was a very short walk to the main sights of Asakusa and right next to Kappabashi street, but just far enough away from the hustle and bustle that it was quiet at night. There were loads of food options right on our doorstep and it was a 5 minute walk to the ROX mall with a great Department store for cheap sushi and food. The room was enormous by Tokyo standards, and the washer/dryer in the room was fantastic. We loved having the tatami section which we could section off with a closed door (particularly as my husband snored quite a bit with the dry air and the long days!), and having kitchen access with a microwave and full fridge was so helpful. Staff were friendly and very keen to be of assistance. Highly recommended!

Be aware of the accommodation tax (from the government) which is not included in the cost when you book through booking.com. Nowhere mentioned it until we arrived and checked in and was told there’s accommodation tax for every night we stay there. It’s a per person charge as well. Not a huge amount but my husband wasn’t happy with the extra charge without prior notice.
Location was perfect, only a couple mins away from Tawaramachi station with lift access. There is a lot of restaurants and a shopping centre within 5-10mins walk. The deluxe family room is very spacious and clean. Would definitely book again next time we come to Tokyo.

Everything was great.
Fabulous everything! Great size room with great facilities, including washing machine / dryer in room. The bathroom was a great size for a family of 5, with a seperate toielt, which is a must! The Location in Asakusa area was great, right near 2 metro stops, lots of restaurants and convenience stores around.
