Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesGreat location for the snow festival and the price was reasonable. Great staff and the breakfast was a good collection of east and west food. Would definitely recommend.

SingaporeIt took me a few days to realise there is no cold air from the air conditioning but warm air during winter. To some it is very comfortable but I preferred cold air for my sleep. Nevertheless, windows can be opened to cool the room down. There is a mini fridge where it is able to fit in a 1.5L bottle however, there is no freezer to place my Ice Cream! :( The size of the bed for 2 average sized (169cm) asian adults is relatively smaller than expected. The number of hangers available are limited especially for a couple in winter where you need to hang the jackets and multiple layers of clothing. Suggest to install a long bar and provide more hangers for hanging clothes.
The location is decent as there are a few convenience stores nearby, near to the underground passageway and the room is clean and the staff is friendly. The kettle is pretty clean with no rust inside. The amenities (comb, cotton buds, tooth brush and tooth paste) can be obtained at the reception. There are 24hrs reception service where you can ask for help anytime.

New ZealandBed too small for two people
KOKO Hotel was a great find. The staff member that greeted us wasn’t as happy or friendly as any other places we visited, but maybe he was having a long day and was tired. Our room was clean and we had fresh towels and night clothes hanging on the door for us the very next day we got back into the hotel from touring the city. One special host helped me set up a bus service to Niseko and I was very very grateful for her help and assistance as another hotel I needed help from told me to pick up the phone myself and call and they didn’t understand what I needed. So I am very grateful for her help and patience with this and with me. Our room was small, but that is normal here. It our bed was a twin size and not a queen, probably my fault and should have looked on my booking. It hosted a kettle and a fridge, no microwave. We were quite central to everything and still being winter we enjoyed a lovely walk around the area with a Lawson’s, 7/11, and Family Mart all at our convenience if needed. No view for us.

NetherlandsRooms can be noisy. Especially when people talk on the hallways. Due to visiting in a busy period, earplugs were required to sleep because occasionally people would talk loudly going to and from their rooms.
The location of the hotel is amazing, being so close to Odori Park and Sapporo Station. You can get to many different places easily from this hotel. Staff is friendly and you can take amenities you desire from the lobby, including tea bags.

United StatesHotel Staff : 1) The first day when we checked-in, the front desk young man struggled so much with his really really limited English to go thru the check-in process and answering some basic questions about the hotel. And through the 4 nights stays, I found out that all the front desk staffs that I met were all unable to speak simple English. Not enough to deal with the hotel guests. For the past years traveling around Japan and staying around 20 hotels, Koko Hotel Sapporo Ekimae was the first hotel that I came across in a big city like Sapporo with front desk staffs struggled to speak to the hotel guests in English. 2) On the checked-in day, the other front desk female staff who was just standing next to the male staff who was struggling so much with his explanation. She did not step in to help him although she wasn't serving anyone or on the phone. And on the regular days, if the hotel staffs met the guests at the lobby, they will just walked away without saying anything or smile. Avoiding eye contact with the guests. I wondered whether they acted unfriendly because of their limited English or they were not trained. Other Japanese hotels I came across will at least greeted guests in Japanese with confidence if not in English. Room : Its okay that the hotel only provide one pillow BUT please provide at least a regular size or a bigger pillow. The pillow they had in the room was flat and about 3/4 size of a regular size pillow. I can't sleep with a flat pillow and the pillow was not big enough to fold, I decided to ask the front desk for an extra pillow. They only offered one extra towel to layer over the pillow. Others : It will be nice if they cleared the snow that was piled at the outside of the hotel entrance. Once a day will save the hotel guests from falling when coming out or returning to the hotel.
Location : Located between 2 main stations. And the underpass entrance that lead to the 2 stations is only 1-2mins away from the hotel. It was the main reason why we stayed in this hotel.

PolandAsking white europeans if they can speak japanese is ridiculous and unprofessional. Rooms could be cleaner.
Approximately 10 minutes by walk from Sapporo Station. Not easy to find at the beggining. Very basic, you have everything what you need. All amenites like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, slippers, nightgown, tea, coffe. It is hard to comunicate with receptionists, but they use translator then it goes somehow.
