LOVED IT!!! One of the highlights of my trip to Japan! I stayed in 3-4 stars hotels and this hostel stole my heart, the staff is so so so nice and friendly, and the guests were really nice too! The place was spotless and the beds were incredibly comfortable.

Everything of this stay was perfect. Very calm atmosphere where you can listen very good quality of records, art books, and the decoration is beautiful!!! The owners were lovely and helpful with recommendations. And the bed was incredible. 10/10

The room was really tiny, but to be fair Tokyo is the home of capsule hotel rooms so it isn’t that unusual there. Compared to a capsule I suppose it was spacious. I’m a tall person so it was challenging.

It’s really cute, with details like a vinyl record listening lounge. It isn’t far from the Skytree Osinge station.

It is a nice and cozy hostel with amazingly friendly hosts. It's very nearby Tokyo skytree and it's station. Asakusa temple is only a 15 minute walk.

It was very cozy, since it is kinda small there’s not a lot of guests so you can easily talk to each other or be alone drinking tea and listening to music. It is also clean and confortable, near the subway. It is a quite neighborhood with nice public bath

There is only one shower! This wasn't a problem as I was able to time things well but maybe could be a problem if you wanted a shower in the evening.

The location was great, very close to the Asakusa station. The staff were very friendly and I enjoyed talking to them. I appreciate that they let me leave my luggage for the day until I had to catch my flight.

The sink/washing facilities were limited but the close proximity to a public bathhouse made up for it. The rooms are small so I bumped into the light fixture while getting changed.

The bed was comfy and clean, the space was really cool and the staff was very lovely and helpful.

The walls are thin like paper. This does not have to be a problem if everybody keeps this in mind. Unfortunaly I had A really loud en inconsiderate neighbour which impected my sleep.

Great owner. The place is also so welcoming and has in my view a particular charm. It is kept sobre sometimes looks like tinkering but always it keeps a certain elegance and style. Difficult to describe but I just loved it. Air conditioning also in the room which is very appreciated in warm and humid end of June. Great vynils also.

The only slight downside was that noise travelled into my room from outside - heavy rain (to be fair it was a typhoon so a bit more loud than usual!), trucks from the nearby fire station, and some kind of workmen. However they provide earplugs to help with this and I think it might have been specific to my room (the single room at the back on the ground floor). Not a big deal at all but maybe something to mention to the host if you're a light sleeper :)

I really enjoyed my stay here! The staff are so friendly and it was fun to chat with them about Tokyo and other places I was visiting. I stayed for 2.5 weeks and they went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and happy. The lounge area is beautifully decorated and a lovely place to relax, and the entire guesthouse has little decorations everywhere. One of my favourite things was the wall of guidebooks which the host has created for guests to write about their home prefectures/cities/countries - a lovely touch and very handy for onward travel! The location in Oshiage was really nice for a longer trip as it was a relaxing place to come home to rather than the chaos of places like Shibuya and Shinjuku. And of course right next to the Skytree meaning you get to admire the illuminations every night. There is easy access to the Hanzomon and Asakusa subway lines. Overall an amazing guesthouse and one I would love to return to in the future!

The steps to the top dorm rooms are really steep and difficult with luggage (no lift). Only one shower which was inconvenient.

Komatsuya was the best stay I had in Tokyo. The place is in a very good position, a few minutes walk from Skytree and the subway (where there's also a direct link to the airports), in a quiet neighbourhood. There are multiple restaurants, conbini and supermarkets around. Both the owner and the lady are very welcoming, and created a place in which you immediately feel at home. Both the single room and the rest of the inn were perfectly clean and comfortable. A special mention has to go to the interior furnishing: it's wonderful! Thanks to the many vinyls (that one can listen to) and the decor, it gives a cozy/vintage vibe that is really enjoyable.
