Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing - all was incredible.
Amazing stay. Absolutely blown away by this wonderful place. Traditional room which was extremely spacious (almost felt like an apartment with a bedroom, toilet, balcony, sitting room). The onsen on site is private with no extra cost or booking required and was wonderful. Traditional yukata to wear with wooden shoes and overcoat as required. All onsens close by and walking distance with access from check-in time to 1pm on check-out day! Some of the onsens are open until 23:00 so even if you get there later you can still enjoy. Downstairs lounge with complimentary drinks was an unexpected bonus and they also catered to vegan and vegetarian! Overall the first days of our Japan holiday the bar was set extremely high. Our only regret was not spending longer at Koyado Enn!

NorwayBreakfast was served at the café at the bottom floor, you get a full tray of delicious food! Café here also had happy hour later in the day for hotel guests! Hotel staff was amazing, our tatami room was amazing, and they carried all our luggage for us! At some point I lost my passport, and the staff went out of their way to help me find it. Truly wonderful people. Hotel also has two private onsen baths, and we tried them both! No reservations, just wait until it's available and try not to occupy it longer than 40 min. You also get yukatas, obi belts, haori jackets (if it's cold), tabi socks and geta sandals to wear during your visit. Umbrellas and rain boots are available to borrow if it's raining. We're going back to Koyado Enn on our next visit! Definitely a highlight of our honeymoon! It was such a special and lovely hotel! 🥰

Great location on the main street, easy to walk around town. The staff were lovely and accomodating. The onsen baths were great for relaxing and are private if you are worried about being in a public onsen. I also enjoyed the massage chair in my suite.

It was a fantastic stay! Excellent food (esp the Tajima Beef course set) and the private baths were great! The staff was so friendly and the happy hour at the cafe with free drinks was a lovely touch! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Fantastic and convenient location, just a short walk from the train station. The rooms are modern and spacious, with incredibly comfortable beds that made for a great night’s sleep. United StatesEverything was perfect, seriously. Most relaxed I’ve ever been. Only thing I didn’t like was that I was there for 1 day. I should have stayed longer…
Everything was fantastic. The staff was courteous and brought out bags to our rooms, helped explain the Onsen process and everything in the town. The dinner and breakfast provided with the room we got was out of this world. Best dinner I’ve ever had. If I ever come back, I will be staying here again. Thank you very much, Koyado Enn :)

PhilippinesThe room doesn't have a bathtub and shower room, which is more of a personal preference than a disadvantage. My room was near the private baths anyway, so this wasn't a huge issue.
The hotel is a 2-3 minute walk from the station. It is near several souvenir shops, restaurants, and cafes. Check-in was smooth, and staff can speak English. There are a couple of private baths in the hotel if you don't prefer onsen hopping.

United StatesVery pricey half-board option. The food was great at the built-in restaurant (which also is very convenient) but for the price of the add-on (half-board basically doubles the price) we may have considered other restaurant options in the area instead.
Great location, high quality facilities.

United KingdomThe toilet room in the bedroom is cold, but once you sit with the sear warmer on, it's all good.
I got the traditional Japanese room and couldn't ask for a more perfect room. It really feels traditional without sacrificing comfort (there's an AC/heater and power strips with USB). The beds were extremely comfortable, there was a table in the room and it was very spacious. The private baths are amazing as well, and there's a system to know if they are in use or not before going there. I also had dinner with Tajima beef there and it was seriously one of the best meals I ever had. The whole menu was so delicious! I also had the breakfast and it was incredible as well. They help you set-up to go to the onsen, there's a yukata that you can borrow and even wellies (it was snowing for me). Seriously great service!

New ZealandStaff members are all super friendly and gave us a lot of helpful information on the Kinosaki onsen town. Room was comfortable and warm. The Tajima beef dinner and the breakfast offered - both very delicious. The hotel itself is very conveniently located to the JR station and also in walking distance to most tourist attractions and public baths. Highly recommended !

United StatesThe wifi was sometimes very slow. The checkout time in the email I received was also incorrect, but I think it was a simple error that will hopefully be fixed. I should have double checked it with the staff anyway.
The staff was very helpful and the room was excellent. Mostly everybody spoke English so even if you can't speak Japanese it's okay. The private baths were also very nice. Being close to the train station was convenient as well. Everything was quiet and clean.
