Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing - it was great!
The owner was delightful, very friendly and helpful. The accommodation had a family-run feel to it and was next to nearby restaurants, cafes and the shuttle bus to the ski resort. It had a shared toilet and shower which was very clean and we never had to wait to use it. The owner kindly picked us up from Hakuba station on a moment's notice when we were stranded (as taxis were fully booked) though bear in mind that the phone number wasn't connecting so we contacted them via their Facebook page. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone!

AustraliaThe hosts make the Dancru Netz a wonderful place to stay. They are very accomodating and kind and clearly spend a lot of time making sure all our comforts are met. The breakfast is good value with coffee, tea, juice, a hot dish with egg, meat and salad (different every day) with fresh rolls and cereal as well. The communal area is very spacious, yet cosy with the fire and furnishings. There are lots of musical instruments and a decently priced bar as well. We found the rooms to be warm and comfortable with some tatami and some standard western beds available. The shared shower facilities were never an issue and easy to access. Our highlight was the two onsens - we never had to wait for one and they are THE perfect way to rejuvenate the 'ol bones following a big day on the slopes. There is plenty of space in the dry room for all your gear. The location is fabulous - a very short walk from ski hire, cafes, restaurants and the shuttles. We will be back and we know where we'll be staying!

New ZealandNot much at all, just not always easy to get to slopes so we resorted to Uber as we weren’t overly organised with the shuttles.
Our chalet cottage was perfect for our family of four. The accommodation is very close to the Lion Adventure rental shop (1min walk) and we were able to buy passes online and at the base of Goryu and Happo-one. Drying room brilliant and our chalet was very warm.

SingaporeThe beds are abit hard but after a full day of ski/sb, i guess you will be able to sleep anywhere. No towels and toothbrush provided. It comes with a fee if you require these.
The Standard Twin was spacious enough to fully open two medium size luggage. It has also a basin where you can brush your teeth in the room without the need to head out. The floors are also heated and you can adjust the temperature. The toilets were well maintain even though it is shared. The most unexpected feature that we enjoy most of our stay is the onsite onsen. They have two private onsen of different size. They have an onsite dry room for shoes/gloves as well as your ski/SB equipment. It is located a short 2 min walk to the main echoland street where they are plenty of good food. The only thing you wish for after a long day of ski/sb is to find food nearby. The main street has everything from ski/sb rental to convenience store and food. There are also free shuttle bus to various ski resorts within 2 mins walk from the accommodation. This hotel has discount cards for both the ski/sb equipment rental and ski passes for selected stores/ski resorts.

AustraliaThe only issue we found, and it was very minor were the towels provided for a small fee. The towels were microfibre, so didn’t dry very well. But we could have brought our own towels and the ones provided were inexpensive and worked well enough.
Great location, full list of accommodations, helpful staff. The heating worked great, and the mattresses were surprisingly comfortable. Loads of extra blankets and pillows. BEST pillows of any hotel we stayed at. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Check in and out was easy. Super close to local transportation and restaurants, easy to get to. Charming cottage experience.
