Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Breakfast was good and hearty. Great way to start the day! The location is good if you are driving. There is a playground nearby with a gorgeous view of Mount Fuji. Mamasan and Papasan are the sweetest and friendliest host! They made our stay extra special.

AustraliaWords cannot express how wonderful this lodge is. Mama San and Pappa San treated us like family. The breakfast every morning was delicious. Pappa San even drove us to the station when our bus didn’t arrive. I will be back. Narusawa is a little gem. Thank you for the memories!

This lodge is owned by a lovely sweet couple. We felt welcomed and had really genuine interactions with them using google translate to communicate. They recommended an onsen nearby that was exceptional. We also had breakfast both mornings at the lodge and it was very good with generous portions. Everything was perfect!! We recommend this place without hesitation.

SwitzerlandParking space at the lodge is limited. The owners are very friendly, but it is hard to communicate if you don't speak Japanese. The owner tried hard and wanted to give hints where to go, but again not easy to follow what he's going to intend by it. There will be no dinner served. The restaurant recommend was about 6 km away and when we arrived there it was fully booked. We had to try 3 other places until we go one to serve us. Would be great if the owner can help with reservation or check if there is space.
Old wooden lodge in Japanese style with friendly owners how try to help. The breakfast (1500 Yen) was great even if it was a bit messed-up by ketchup. The room is small but for a night sufficient and pure Japanese style (Tatami/Futon). The bathroom and toilets are shared and it feels like using the owners area.

NetherlandsNothing. My stay here was perfect.
The location of the Lodge is very convenient. You are close to many pretty viewpoints for Mt. Fuji and the Aokigihara forest is basically next door. The accommodation is absolutely lovely. I had a warm welcome of jazzy music, warmth from the inside and mellowing lights comforting me. The interior of the building is decorated with all sorts of antiques. The structure of the building is also nice, with spacious rooms and an amazing living room. By far, what made my stay the best were Papa-san and Mama-san. An adorable couple that built this stay over 34 years ago. They told me they've done lots of renovation and painting themselves etc. The breakfast was also insanely tasty, yum! These kind-hearted people were here to accommodate every need i had. They brought me tea, wanted to drive me to my busstop, shared stories and sweets with me, helped me figure out my bus, let me store my luggage (even though my check-out had already happened) and so much more that i cannot begin to list here. Truly, i admire them for their efforts and kindness. Thank you, Lodge Stackpoint!

Papa and Mama san were extremely welcoming and made our visit very enjoyable. They showed us the local onsen for a traditional experience as well as the local hiking trails. The communal table allowed us to meet other people and gain more insight into places to visit and food to eat!

PolandThe place is very cosy and peaceful. The hosts are wonderful, they were treating their guests like their own family, checking all the time if we needed anything and indulging us with cold tea and coffee. I also recommend the nearest onsen, especially in the evening when it' s not that hot.
