Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe beds were a little stiff, but after a night you got used to it. Otherwise everything else was great.
Location is about 10-15min walk from the Peace Memorial Park and right by the main Streetcar lines to/from the station and Miyajima Ferry Port. Hostel is super clean and the staff at reception and on the bar were amazing, giving great tips and advice for things in Hiroshima. Rooms were big and facilities were really good, plus in our room there was a bag room which just made things easier than putting things into lockers. There were still valuable lockers just in case, but we didn’t need them.

AustraliaWell priced and room a little more spacious than some other hotels. Our private room had 2 very good sized beds which was a bonus after dome hotels’ small beds.

NetherlandsAll you need is there and the staff is extremely kind and helpful. The beds are not very comfy but the price is also not that high. Guest are respectful in the dormitory and public areas. Everything is clean and convenient. The Café on the ground floor serves great coffee, its a nice spot to chill a bit and eat breakfast. Would definitely recommend for travellers, for couples as well if you don’t mind sleeping in a dorm and want to save some money. :)

DenmarkA little bit too little space all around. I missed a place where you could organize your lugage without disturbing your “roomates” in the dorm. Small duvet and not warm enough. Had a hard time with the wifi sometimes but really not a big problem!
Very clean hostel and kind staff! Cozy and quiet.

AustraliaThere are a LOT of beds in each room, and although the hotel is set up to make guests comfortable, it can be difficult to enforce quiet hours with so many people going in and out, especially late at night. I'm not too fussy with beds/pillows in general, and I've had no issues despite the generally thinner mattresses in Japan, but the pillow provided here was really difficult to sleep on. It is a weirdly hard beady material like a bean bag that is very stiff and uncomfortable. I ended up folding my towel to use as a pillow.
Easy access to Hiroshima Station and Miyajima by tram and within a reasonable walking distance of the Peace Park. Convenience stores nearby. Dorms are big, well maintained and blacked out to minimize light, creating a cosy sleepy atmosphere. Toilets on the women's floor with sink space as well, though showers were on a separate floor and unisex. Showers were also quite spacious with storage and dressing area. Fresh towels provided daily and free amenities available at the reception. More space for luggage storage than the average hostel; they have a small closet space with hangers for coats and small bags as well as some shelving for suitcases. I thought it was very cute that they provided board games. The front desk also has pamphlets on local sights and posters on latest happenings; although I had planned my trip very well and done my research, I still learnt about new events in the city thanks to them. Staff was very helpful, kind and welcoming.

JapanI tried calling the phone number given by booking but it didn't work (it my be a problem with my phone though)
I really recommend this hostel it is low key the CLEANEST and most comfortable I've ever been to. I literally don't want to leave but the trip must go on. The bed is spacious, shower and bathroom amazingly clean. Kitchen is small but equipped with everything you might need and all the utensils look like new. Location is good, there's tram stop nearby that gets you easily to the nearest jr train station if you need to move out of the city, there's also several bus lines that in a few stops bring you to Hiroshima Station. Extra points for the friendly staff. 10/10 experience.

CanadaSeems like a lot of rules but that is what it seems to me. This was my first time at a hotel/ guest house.
It is clean, bed was comfortable, washrooms were clean and they had sanitizer to clean the seat, fragrant spray to keep it fresh. Showers were good, they gave you towels and slippers. I had a pretty good night sleep there. Location is ok, close to Hiroshima bomb sight. 7-11 close by, restaurants close by.

United Kingdom- Lights by the bed a bit bright and very far back, you can't lounge on your bed in the daytime without it feeling like a cave. But the beds were very big and allowed lots of space.
- Very central- 10 minute walk to all the tourist bits. - There's a bar upstairs and cafe downstairs. I wasn't travelling to make friends but if you were, two girls in my dorm who hadn't met made friends. Seems good place to! - Beds comfy, bathroom facilities behind a door so you can't hear people brushing their teeth in the morning, laundry facilities, free shampoo/conditioner etc. - Hostel let me store my luggage after I'd checked out which was very useful to my travels! - Easy check in/out - Luggage space in the room, along with a clothes rack with hangers. Great when every customer has bulky luggage.
