Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JapanThere are not a lot of food options due to the remote location, so getting rooms with meals is absolutely necessary. The building is a bit old as well, but very clean.
If you are coming for skiing and onsens, the location is convenient and the baths are amazing. The winter scenery is very beautiful.

JapanIncredibly expensive restaurant that you’re forced to use since there’s nothing else around. The food was good, but definitely not worth the price.

SingaporeThe two onsens were great, and we also appreciated that we could bathe at the sister hotel ‘manza prince’ nearby. The view from our room, overlooking a stream, was magical, especially as it snowed during our stay.

AustraliaUnfortunately it was raining and I had to walk quite some distance from the supplementary carpark in the rain. The beds were quite hard.
Beautiful area. I enjoyed the outdoor baths, however the towel provided for the mixed bathing pools was not big enough for a larger body.

GermanyThe rooms are old and not kept very clean. The carpets are dirty, the tapestry is falling off at some places and it needs some renovation in general.
Both the outdoor and indoor Onsen are great. Especially the outdoor Onsen is very natural. The temperature is also great.

AustraliaTotally isolated. No food option at all, unless u buy their 25$ breakfast and their 50$ buffet . We were 2 vegetarians and one meat eater. Way too expensive to have sone noodles. They should tell u beforehand , so u can bring ur own. They do have microwaved and hot water . It’s just one of these big concrete hotels, a little dated with zero ambience .
We were there in summer. The onzen was nice However to go into the larger mixed onzen u Have to buy some one-off bathing suits f 11$ which u throw out afterwards . Environmentally a huge waste. Microwave Coffee/tea making in room

BelgiumThe carpeted floors were in an appalling state especially that from the restaurant, there were stains of different sizes and colours everywhere. This came as a shock because we thought everything was clean in Japan.
The breakfast was okay at least in its traditional Japanese way, all Western products were not too good - rubberlike waffles, tasteless viennoiserie.

AustraliaYes there are stains on carpets and it’s a bit dated but for under $200 AUD with two meals and a great ‘natural’ hot spring you can’t ask for better!
The outdoor (shared) onsen was amazing.. or as amazing as an onsen can be. It’s mostly open to the cool air and the pools are warm to very hot, and so nice to bathe in and be with your family too. The food was plentiful and very nice but not a stand out to other hotels we’ve been to in Japan offering half board. The room was very spacious and pleasant… as many other people have said, this hotel is dated and there are stains on the carpets but we just looked beyond that and enjoyed being at 1800 metres altitude in an awesome outdoor hot spring. The drive up to the hotel was also exciting and picturesque.

Of course the Onsen (Natural hot spring baths) were wonderful. The restaurant is also very good and the buffet style allowed us to try many different dishes.

United StatesWe stayed here to be close to the snow monkey park but learned on check-in that the road going north was closed making for a long drive around the mountains to see those darned monkeys…but it was worth it.
This property was a bit dated and appeared to be mainly for Japanese families on skiing vacation who wanted to soak in the onsen pools after a day on the slopes. The location was amazing and we very much enjoyed the spa facilities even though we felt a little out of place.

The onsen is available both in Kogen and Prince Hotel by shuttle bus. From Karuizawa to Hotel, there is a shuttle bus Easy to go from Tokyo. Onsen quality is good. After using onsen 3 times in 1 night, my body became so smooth! Reasonable price for a room Colorful onsen diversity Check my blog! https://m.blog.naver.com/cestmavieendieu/223285148420
