It was very cold in the shower room! It was winter and it's an old house so it's understandable, just a bit uncomfortable. The neighborhood is a little ways out from the main city area, so this stay might not be convenient if you don't have a car.

Mekiki is so charming and welcoming, and the host is so kind! We loved the retro common area and the fact that certain elements of the old traditional house had been preserved. You can tell that this place is run with great care. We stayed in one of the villas and it was so cozy and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty. We visited in wintertime so the greenery on the property was sparse but it was still lovely. We liked being able to use the firepit outside and enjoyed some stargazing on a chilly night.

There are lots of amazing things around this place. You can have nice local specialties and enjoy hot springs. In addition to this, the staff are welcoming and friendly! I definitely recommend it to my friends and family!

Like everywhere in Japan, there are no blinds and so the rooms are very bright even at night and the morning sun makes it worse in the early morning.

Great house, well furnished with a very nice garden and great view! We spend part of our evening sitting on the heated mat in the main room while having drinks and snacks, it felt like an authentic Japanese party :D

The villa we stayed is fascinating, the window wall is facing to a natural scene and able to hear the streams of the river. The function hall has a full range of vintage stuff laid out and everything is well preserved and displayed. The music is also country chic, making the experience extraordinary.

The shower compared to the rest of the house was a bit run down and could use a refurbishing. The A/C in the room was a bit noisy but for us it was no problem

As expected, it can be a bit troublesome to have to wear shoes to get to the toilet each time. The cabin is also just slightly dusty.

Great quaint place with camping vibes. Cosy little cabin that was surprisingly not too cramped. Like the other reviews stated, this is a unique stay where you sleep to the sounds of flowing water above the creek and in my case, to the hum of the summer cicadas. The staff was extremely friendly and nice. Breakfast was also delicious.

The address/directions initially took us to the wrong home so we ended up at the wrong place (the right one was only a few driveways away). The signage for the lodging is small and close to the ground so it's difficult to spot when you're driving.

The property was peaceful. Free parking up the street was included. The beds were very comfortable and the space and shared areas were very clean and perfect for hanging out in. The host was wonderful! Close to parks, restaurants, and vineyards!

I love the renovated Japanese house, friendly staffs and the peaceful environment where a small river passes by. During night time in the tiny house, I fall into sleep with the sound of the following water. Such a paradise. I wanna come again with friends in summer time!

As a slightly tall guy (six foot / 180 cm), the tiny house bedroom required sleeping diagonally, and I banged my head on low beams in the main house a few times.

A great little indie guesthouse. The tiny houses are charming, and the old minka house honestly impressive. The owner is a real cool guy.
