Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JapanWe loved everything
The owner was the best company, the stay was beyond good, we enjoyed it as a couple travelling through japan. We recomend sleeping in futons, it is a great experience. You can easily cook there, and the owner has great recommendation for sake and for visiting around. The place is surrounded by beautiful nature and waterfalls. A exquisitely hot bath is always ready in the morning which makes the owner a superhero. Thank you so much for the experience, we'll come back for sure!

United StatesBeautiful inn in the national park area. 15-20min walk to the bus station. My sister was really excited about the kotatsu and ofuro (the latter was really nice after a long hike). There is also a functional kitchen with adequate applicances (small toaster, microwave, hob etc.). The sounds of the stream behind the inn, the garden, the hospitality (fresh fruits, offering us a lift back, helping with our questions, sharing knowledge)... He is an open-minded person who is welcoming toward people of various backgrounds, and is also very artistic (he creates decorations in his home from natural resources like hemp and wood found in the mountains). We learnt a lot and had a great experience, and wished we could have stayed a little longer. Thank you!

AustraliaWe liked everything
Masayuki was a considerate, kind & discrete host. All of second floor is made available for your stay, so very comfortable. Location alongside a river is fabulous & despite not being in town centre is serviced by many diff buses & taxi is also available. The walk from property down to area where Temples & Shrines are located pass through amazing cedar forests & perfectly doable for all ages & vintages ( we are 73 & 68yrs). Would advise all travellers not arriving by car to leave large luggage in train station lockers & take what is needed for your stay. Masayuki picked us up & dropped us back at station as we had large suitcases. He offered us fresh strawberries & treatment for a cold after a day visiting in very heavy rain. He is a very interesting person & equally interested in his guests. Really a great stay, thank you. Janette & Xavier

GuamWish I stayed longer. My friends were teary-eyed on the local train back to Tokyo.
The Midorian had this unquantifiable fairy-tale quality to itself. Nestled in the heart of the mountains, surrounded by a cool river, under the care of a noble man.

JapanWe don't have a car so we walked on by foot. The distance from the main road to the house is around 20mins. Going to is more exhausting as the road is very steep.
I like the Japanese-style room where we had the option to sleep on bunk beds and tatami mats. So ofc, we opted for the tatami mats. Also had my first experience trying kotatsu while eating the mikans and KitKats that was given to us by the host. The bathroom is also clean and is complete with toiletries. No need to bring towels also as the host will provide clean towels. Just bring your toothbrush. Toothpaste is also provided. There's also a mini kitchen with microwave, electric kettle, fridge and stove. During our stay, the weather is 1°C. The room is also equipped with heaters. So we slept comfortably.

FranceNothing, everything was perfect !
Very nice and cool owner. Everything was clean and very comfortable. It was a traditionnal japanese style room ans we slept on futons (beds also available). It was a bit far from the city but the taxi from the train station was cheap, and we were able to reach the main shrines by foot the next morning.

SingaporeIt may not be very accessible to those without a car and are pulling along luggage.
Host was very easy going and accommodating. We were allowed to use the whole floor despite another room typically available only to other guests. Although they may not initially look like it, the bunk beds are really comfortable. The view of the stream outside the window is a major plus. This really has the Japanese home feel we really wanted during our trip, away from the regular hotels. You feel safe since there is someone staying within the premises at most times.

AustraliaThe property is amazing. It is in a quiet location a short walk from the bus stop. We got a little stuck in the rain but once we got there it was such a welcome relief, a beautiful traditional Japanese house with tatami mats and shoji. The sounds of the nearby river flowing behind the property was extremely relaxing and really added to the serenity of the property. The host is such a nice guy, we chatted fishing and he even sent me my headphones to our next accomodation after I left them behind. Wish we could have stayed longer but with our limited time we were go go go! Thanks Midorian.

United StatesWe rented a car, so it was very easy to get to the Inn. Public transportation would be hard, but taxi would work well from the train station.
Very nice setting with a creek running through behind it. The water is apparently clean enough to drink directly. The place is clean and we had the 2nd floor to ourselves with a small kitchen, toilet, two tatami rooms and a room with 4 bunk beds. The host is very nice and brought us grapes and green tea on arrival. We cooked dinner and ate leftovers for breakfast. We were allowed to use the washer-dryer combo next to the shower on the first floor for free. It was a perfect stay.
