The owner is super kind, we didn't expect the pick up but he had tried to arrange it for us even he was still busy on the date we've arrived. The room is big with 2 stories, 2 bedrooms. The location is not far from old town and just in front of beautiful scenic canel with many Sakura trees (but we were there in should season, so no luck to see Sakura by the canel. This room is super value for money.

Located in the heart of takayama city, it is very convenient to visit interesting spots within takayama city. The accommodation is spacious and very clean as well! The host seems to be an interesting person though we haven't been able to interact with the host during our stay.

The futon bed was a nice experience and very comfortable. The host was very helpful, and drove us to the apartment. Located a few minutes walk from the shrine.

We had no complaints. The highlights would be that the host picked us up at the station - which was incredibly nice of him and drove and showed us the property, having in mind we were 5 people; also the location is just perfect - quiet and close to everything :)

If you are visiting Takayama, THIS is the place to stay! A comfortable and exceptionally clean space. Close to so many places to see and eat. The futon mats were the most comfortable we have slept on in Japan. It is set back from the road so the rooms are nice and quiet. The hosts went above and beyond expectations to ensure we were comfortable and safe. We got picked up from the station and unfortunately my little boy got a fever the second night. We rang the host to ask about a doctor and they took us to the emergency hospital and stayed with us the whole time. It was quite a scary situation being in a foreign country, but having her there helped us feel safe and supported. Words can't express how grateful I was to our hosts that night.

The apartment we had was an incredibly gorgeous two floor apartment. With an authentic Japanese bedroom and a western style bedroom. The best thing about our stay was the owner though! He was really nice Chinese guy who was always there to help us with everything we asked for. He even invited us over to another of his places which was a really gorgeous Japanese style house to dry our clothes and have a traditional Chinese tea with him. Overall there is nothing bad to say about our stay there and they even drove us multiple times to the train station etc.

Hosts went above and beyond to make sure we're comfortable during the stay. Really nice people taking care of the guests. Apartments is brand new, nicely decorated and very comfortable even for a large family. A great combination of modern amenities and traditional bedrooms with painted doors and tatamis, perfect for tea time. Perfectly clean and spacious. A nice small Japanese garden is a bonus. Beautiful street with a flowing river and many trees just a short walk from the market, attractions and lively tourist area. Would love to come back again.

Can't think of any improvements, the place is really great!

We spent awesome time at this place. Sparkling clean, comfortable with all the amenities needed. Hosts are very nice people, friendly and accomodating. Location is perfect near the small river with lots of trees and close to the main streets for sightseeing. Won't think twice where to stay when we come back to Takayama!

We had an excellent stay here. The host was very thoughtful turning the air-conditioning on before our arrival on hot summer day and provided easy communication before and throughout our stay. He gave us great recommendations for food and local meat, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The house was well-equipped, allowing us to cook some meals. Additionally, its location was perfect, with easy access to all attractions by foot and the parking provided definitely is a plus. Highly recommended!

Such a lovely stay in a lovely quiet street in central Takayama, close to so many attractions and the morning market. The atmospheric vibe around was unbeatable, and the accommodation itself was lovely as well. It has everything you need for an amazing short or long-term stay - cooking utensils and appliances, washer and dryer, really convenient! It was really easy to get in touch with the host and to check in. Highly recommend!

- Not a big or permanent problem at all, but there were insects coming from one the coffee corner by the window. I have a feeling you find more insects during the summer too (July). We killed many on the first day and they disappered afterwards. - Like most hosts in Japan, we need to speak the native language, in this case Mandarin Chinese, which we happen to speak. So if you speak Chinese, it will be super convenient. Otherwise, translation apps can be helpful.

- We were welcomed by a Chinese gentleman and his Chinese assistant upon arrival where we were handed over the house key and received an introduction to the house. The owner is very friendly, flexible and tended to our travel needs. He is also very responsive on messages. - Newly renovated 2 story house with beautiful decoration, large glass window overlooking a nice Japanese garden. Spacious 3 bedrooms, including tatami futon style and a Western one. Very well lid house with large windows everywhere. - Automatic lighting in the toilets so you dont bother looking for a switch. - There is a stream of water running in front of the house which is beautiful to hear and see. Located 10 minutes walk from one of Takayama's morning markets; such beautiful walk along the way. - I read a comment about the house's steep/small staircase, but it really was not an issue for us.

The location, the place and the host. Location wise, it is not very close to the highly touristy spot but just within a few minutes walk away. It allows to enjoy a quiet and peaceful morning without missing out on the experience of the old town Takayama. The homestay is very clean and aesthetically pleasing too. I personally really liked the mini garden outside, a nice spot to enjoy your morning coffee. The host is also very responsive and accommodating. We even helped us get back the stuff we left behind. Highly recommended!

The host asked to pay in cash only after we arrived. We didn't have enough cash with us so we had to walk around and find an ATM. It wasn't easy to find, and additionally it added 4% coat to the staying as we had to pay commission for money withdrawal

The place is lovely with Japanese style bedroom. There is a river next to the place that adds to the overall atmosphere
