We had an exceptional ryokan experience with beautiful common areas and a relaxing private onsen, delicious food, and very accommodating and kind staff. It was by far the most relaxing part of our trip, and we felt extremely welcome here.

I loved the staffs accomodation, the hosts ability to cater to my needs and give me tips on what I can do with my short amount of time. The amazing onsen facilities and the overall traditional experience from the food to the yukatas are well worth the money.

Amazing experience! The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. Upon arriving the owner gave me an introduction to kinosakionsen and provided preferences to the local onsens. The dinner and breakfast were very good. Traditional ryokan style meal. Amazing stay definitely will do it again in future visits

    Nothing really.

Lovely family-run ryokan with a truly kind and charming owner. Good and tasty dinner on our first night. The breakfast was also very copious and impressive. First time i slept in a futon bed but it was surprisingly comfortable. We loved our stay here. It was also very well located.

Place was cool, traditional style ryokan with lovely staff and great location. They really went to extreme to ensure that we reach the best Kinosaki-experience. I forgot my ring, noticed it in the bus station and accepted my faith. However, they had noticed my ring and rushed to the bus to bring it to me - this is an example of their heartfelt attirude towards guests

Nothing. The host and staff are very friendly. The establishment has some age but this is the beauty of a historic hot spring town. Just like all older traditional Japanese houses, the corridor and stairs can be narrow and steep. But the staffs can definitely help.

It was a roughly 10~15 minute walk from the station. It is in the middle of the hot spring town and is a great location. The staff and the owner are very friendly and welcoming. The owner is a stylish gentlemen and speaks English very well. A complimentary traditional tea ceremony is served from check-in time until 4:30pm. It is a simplified version but a legit one. If you know Japanese, feel free to talk to the lady about the tea and tea-wares. Amazing food at a decent price. I had a full crab meal that I got so stuffed that I couldn't even finish the stewed rice in the end. Food of this quality and portion can easily cost you 3 times if you get it in the city. There is a shrine dedicating to the hot spring/mountain god close by. I love to visit shrines so I am very happy that it is in such close proximity. There are two in-house hot springs- one public and one private. The public one is a MIXED BATH unless it's certain time of the day. The private one is first-come first serve. Both hot springs are very small. However, this should not be a problem as you will be given a pass when you check-in that grants access to all (at least seven) public baths in the area. Those public bath house a big and each have their own style and charm. As this hotel is very close to everything, everyone is out exploring and trying out those public hot spring houses and no one really use the one in the hotel. Overall it's an amazing experience. I highly recommend this place to those who enjoys authentic, unpretentious, old school charm.

That we had to leave …

Incredible experience - we loved every moment of our time here. It was our first ryokan & onsen experience, and everything exceeded expectations. The hosts were attentive & helpful, the Japanese tatami room was spacious and comfortable, and it is in the premium location in the town centre. We chose to include dinner & breakfast, and both were phenomenal. Yukata and kimono were provided, and they took great photos for us. The private onsens inside the ryokan were lovely, and a great introduction before we went to the public onsens in town. Highly recommend. Thank you!!!!

Small and well run family onsen ryokan with in house small outdoor and cave onsens which are private in the afternoon of check in and public by gender the next morning. The top floor room named "Maple" has wonderful view of the colourful vegetation on the mountain side and small water feature at the bottom. Owner operator is very attentive and service oriented. Highly recommended!!!

Amazing stay at Morizuya! The owner is very welcoming and fun. The onsen is great, and some days it can be used privately. We enjoyed the small tea ceremony, and the room had everything we needed. Perfect location in the middle of all the onsens. Highly recommend!

The experience was so great! The Ryokan was amazing and the owners were also extremely kind and thoughtful. From the traditional room, to the amazing Kaiseki meals, Morizuya was everything I was hoping for; I can see why it has remained a family run business for 8 generations, they obviously care about providing an excellent experience. That's not to mention the town of Kinosaki itself; wonderful atmosphere, the most amazing (and tattoo friendly Onsens) in all of Japan! 10/10, everyone should go here at least once.

Gorgeous rooms, clean and zen. Their private hot springs are also a big plus! Most of all, Hachi (the manager), his family and the entire staff working there are all incredibly friendly, and go the extra mile to make you feel welcome, comfortable and at home here. Location is perfect for onsen hopping too! Staying here was the highlight of our Japan trip.

Everything, it was amazing. Lovely large room with a great window. Excellent food, cozy onsen, great outfits, shoes, bags, and products umbrellas all provided. My favorite part was the service and owner. Taking care in all interactions and even taking my photo throughout town as I was traveling alone.

Nothing, it was more than we ever hoped for. Absolutely perfect!

The highlight of our Japan trip, authentic ryokan that has been run by the same family for generations. The host was so kind and welcoming, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and truly enjoyable. The food was exceptional (we had both dinner and breakfast, we even got to try the famous crab!), the welcoming traditional tea ceremony was such a wonderful and unexpected bonus, the private onsen baths were so relaxing (especially loved one outside! amazing with January cold air). Thank you so much for having us and the photos! We will cherish the memories. This was worth every penny. If you want to experience true Japanese hospitality - Morizuya is the way to go. All four of us absolutely loved it! And it came with a day pass for all the public onsen baths of Kinosaki onsen!
