Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MalaysiaEventhough it’s only like a few stations away from the main hotspot, the train frequency isn’t that great. They come every 30 minutes. So if you miss one, then you’re just going to waste 30mins waiting. And they don’t have screen announcement, so please be aware of what train you’re taking. Also, the area is pretty dead. Idk if it’s because of winter or what so yeah. Only one restaurant opens.
Clean. I stayed at a single room for one, very comfortable and warm. Laundry service also pretty great. There is one small restaurant in front of the hostel, serves great fish! I enjoyed my stay here.

New ZealandIn the morning, one of the staff walks really loud in the doorway while other staff and other guests walk very gentle with min sound.
Great location, close to train stations and a shop nearby. The hostel is also well-equipped with most things you would need. We were shocked by the amazing view in the next morning when we open the door, seeing Mt Fuji right there outside of the window.

I love the vibes of this place. Quiet, near the train station, and Mt Fuji view! Also, the staff are really nice, some are also Filipino where I was able to speak my language. I love the amenities, free coffee & tea. It's also walkable from the iconic pagoda. I celebrated my Birthday here.

I found this hostel online and glad I chose this place. You can see Mount Fuji from the hostel itself and it’s located in a friendly small town. The hostel itself is VERY clean and the owners and employees are so helpful. They were so knowledgeable about the area including, climbing Mount Fuji and transportation to other places (Kyoto, Osaka, Tokyo). We asked for more information several times about travelling to other areas and the staff here were still happy to help and made sure we understood. The hostel is quiet so you don’t have to worry about not getting any rest and, they have a small balcony to relax and an area for board games! They have tea and coffee available as well. It made us appreciate the small details/ efforts. Would 100% recommend and stay again. Thank you!

AustraliaThe reason for my 7 rating is that I found the bed really uncomfortable 😟 the pillow was stone-hard and so high that I mostly slept without. The futon mattress on the wooden slats of the bed was very thin and uncomfortable. The private double room I had was so narrow thay I barely could unpack my luggage. Although I had a private room, the walls are so thin that I could hear everything from the dorm room adjacent to mine, from the entrance, and even from the outside (there are a couple of restaurants and I suspect there have been a few drunk people). The kitchen facilities are pretty basics and are just in the hallway, there's not a proper space to prepare food and tables to eat are also in the hallway. To wash up your stuff, you need to use the bathroom area sinks (only 2 sinks in total, often times they were busy).
Location is very convenient, 5 minutes walking from Gekkouji station (which connects you to Fujisan station and Kawaguchiko station) and there's an actual supermarket (rare find in Japan!) less than 10 minutes walking. Hosts are English native speakers so communication is seamless. Bathroom and showers were always clean. Conveniently cheap private rooms, aircon in the room and towels provided; I also very much appreciated that they allowed me to check in early, as I came down from Mt. Fuji in the morning and I really needed a shower and a nap 😁
