Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Breakfast was bread and a boiled egg, not my type of breakfast but it may be enough for some.
The location was great, no need to carry bags too far and you’re still within the area that remains open (not many places) after 6 PM

Small bed, I'm 178cm and my feet were completely outside.
complementary breakfast included which was not announced in booking.com it was a nice and delicious surprise. Location was so convenient near the bus and train stations, just a 3 minutes walk. Staff was very professional and helpful.

Location is good if you want to be near the stations but it is at the other end of town to the shrines. Breakfast is very small, gets you on your way but barely even by Japanese standards.
Good size room with a queen bed. Grocery store right across the street.

The beds need replacement. It felt a bit tilted. Could not sleep the whole night.

The room decor with the cheap wood material seemed a little bit rustic. Hot water tap was far too hot. Age of the building is showing a little bit.
Hotel was clean, good location for tourist attractions. Bed was comfortable. Service good.

"Old- fashioned" interior would need to be renewed.
Position is great, near station, restaurants (beware cause they all close early) and a superstore. Price is good and rooms are clean.

No place to open luggage/No luggage rack. Cannot ask for a quilt for the double-bed room. Onsen is only available on another Nikko Station building (a little bit far away).

Only one washing machine. Only one key card for two persons. No pyjamas and bed was hard.
The location was perfect for our needs, near the tourist busses. Very clean, simple room. Friendly staff.

Laundry takes 3 hours and, has only 1 washer and dryer for everyone and shuts off at 10pm. Breakfast was just a premade plate of bread, a hard-boiled egg, and a small salad.

The room had a bad smell which didn't go away after opening the window for several hours. The bed was rather narrow for two people. Breakfast was not very tasty.

Bedding was old and worn. Sheets and pillow cases had balls of lint all over it. Other guests leave their dirty towels, old food containers and rubbish in front of their doors causing unpleasant sight and smells through out the corridors.
Good stay. Good for short term one night stay. Reception staff was polite and helpful.

Would have loved more breakfast options as it was pretty basic but understandable if this keeps the cost low.
Great hotel for a short stay in Nikko, good quality for the price paid. The hotel was quite basic with a small room but it was very clean and overlooked the city/mountains. Same for the bathroom, it was clean but quite tight. Breakfast was basic but decent with a fixed breakfast each morning containing an egg, toast and a salad. Very good connection to the different activities in Nikko with its proximity to the station.

It’s a few blocks away from the station and the restaurants. It’s ok if you’re fit, but might be a concern if traveling with seniors or little kids.
Clean. It looks like it’s been refurbished since the white walls in our room don’t have noticeable dirt marks. They offered vouchers and a free ride to their new restaurant (5-minute car ride away)

AC was not easy to understand.
Location is really good. 5 mins walk from the train station. And a medium sized mart nearby. Rooms are also of good size. Clean rooms.

Wi-fi should be better. Sometimes it was working ok, sometimes the signal was very poor or even disappered.
Hotel is very close to both rail stations in Nikko. The room was quite spacy with all necessary things. Breakfast was good. For me it was good choice.
