Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe staff were really rude and unhelpful. The lockers were on a different floor to my capsule and the showers were again on another different floor, which made everything very inconvenient.
The capsules were comfortable although we were surprised they didn’t have any doors.

FranceToo much air conditioner, I got a cold
Super clean and spacious for a capsule, equipment lending for free, shower clean and spacious as well, soap and teeth brush for free, a bit too much cold because of strong air conditioner. The lockers à quite big for medium suitcase is perfect, boys and girls separated, and one card system to open everything. all the staff speak a good English. I will go again

NetherlandsThe receptionists were not to be found upon arrival, and there was luggage unattended at the reception. The floor of the female bathroom was covered with hairs. I have informed the receptionists and they just shrugged and continue to watch on their phones. Please be aware that you might need to take the elevator to the 1st floor for showering, the 3rd floor for your locker and the 6th or 9th floor for your capsule.
The location was good and the capsules were spacious and clean.

AustraliaRegarding the breakfast, I didn’t like the fact, that in the coffee shop I received the voucher for they didn’t speak English at all and instead of Oat milk late I received normal full-cream milk. The lady who did the coffee said they don’t have the oat milk, just soy. When I asked if they can re-do it, she said I would need to pay for it. I wasn’t really happy with that.

IrelandThe fact you need to leave between 10am to 3pm is sort of frustrating and isn’t necessarily super common as other places i booked in the future didn’t require this. The locker room was quiet frustrating as it was so small but thats fairly common in these hostels.
Cool first experience in a pod hostel, had some good amenities and pyjamas. The pod was nice and spacious and the showers are great. Lounge area is nice but i didn’t use it much due to time constraints and the odd hours of being able to access the building.

NetherlandsUnfriendly staff, which is rare in Japan. They also have this rule that from 10am to 2pm, everyone has to leave the hotel so that they can clean the rooms. This is somewhat understandable and it is mentioned in the description, but this rule also applies to the locker area in the 2nd floor — they don't let you access your luggage during those 4 hours! This doesn't make any sense, and that extra rule was not written anywhere. The mattress is very hard which is OK with me, but the pillow is literally a bag filled with sand - very uncomfortable. A few years ago I stayed at another capsule hotel in Shinjuku by the same hotel chain (9 hours) and the experience was way better. I think that sadly that branch closed during the pandemic.
Great location, clean space, good goodie bag, great shower.

United Kingdomthis place is designed for people staying 1 night with little to no luggage and like following lots of rules. I was travelling multiple countries but still travelling quite light with a small backpack and a small suitcase. the storage locker area is far too cramped and there isn’t any room to move. you’ll quite often be shoulder to shoulder with your locker neighbour and this gets very awkward when you both have luggage to move or organise. you get a QR code to access every part of the building and your locker but this qr code changes every single morning by 10 am. this is extremely impractical if you’re staying more than 1 night. I was woken by staff telling me to get up and get ready to check out (I had 3 more nights booked) I then went to take a shower and was harassed by a staff member bashing my shower door telling me to stop showering and go check out. this staff member was very rude and basically told me I needed to stop getting ready and hurry up and go check out. with this being my first night I thought the checkout was only for the keycard and I didn’t actually have to fully check out as I had more than 1 night booked. this wasn’t explained to me at all. i then checked out even though I had 3 more nights booked. I’d realised I’d effectively been kicked out of the hotel I’d paid for until check in at 3pm. this meant I had no access to my belongings on the second floor as they were held by a security at code and so is the lift. I also was only allowed to sleep when they told me I was allowed to sleep in the bed which I’d paid for and I was not allowed to use the facilities I’d paid to use either (shower, bathroom etc). By 10:30am I’d had enough of people shouting at me and telling me what I could and couldn’t do in the hotel I’d paid for so I decided to book another hotel and asked for a refund for two of the three remaining nights I had booked. I was simply told no by the staff without any room for negotiation.
the view was nice, the roof access at night was great too.

United StatesThe top bunks did shake slightly when other people were hopping into bed that were nearby. To be honest it wasn't a big deal for me personally, but some people might not be cool with it. This was in no way a deal breaker.
the hotel is located steps away from the train station Hamamatsucho. It was basically on straight line from Haneda airport right to the hotel. It was a furturistic modern style hotel, the capsule bed was shockingly very comfortable. It was an instant knock out for my friends and I (slept like babies after a 21 hour journey). The facilities were impeccable. I do enjoy the finer things in life, but everything in Japan was bougie including this hotel. I HIGHLY recommend booking this hotel after a long journey, it is incredibly comfortable.

PolandThere is a curfew, they wake you up from 9AM every day and you must leave before 10AM. That's very painful if you're feeling unwell/hangover. It's written in the description, but it should be pronounced more when you book the hotel. The breakfast is just a voucher to a nearby cafe, for which you get a coffee and half of a sandwich. The pillows are hard as rock.
The hotel was clean, except for the toilet areas in the morning. The location is good
