Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaAccommodation in a separate cabin was very efficiently organised but maybe a little cramped in cold weather. Local village (Shirataki) has no shops so stock up before you arrive
Peaceful, clean environment Very warm, comfortable bed! Wonderful food from the farm and local growers. Yoko was charming and spoke very good English. Opportunity to participate in farm activities.

AustraliaWe are glad that we stayed at Ezura Farm for 2 nights (wish more!) Mobile home is so cozy and has everything (lots of drink sachets and tea, washing machine with detergent etc) with a stunning view. Location is rural, peaceful and relaxing. They also offer activities like snowshoeing, snowmobile and banana boat ride, wood chopping in winter. And a sauna! Breakfast and dinner are optional. All are delicious and healthy with fresh ingredients from the farm or neighbours. Highly recommended. They don’t offer lunch and there is no shop nearby, better to bring some food and drinks if staying more than 1 night. Yoko, Akito, and the team were very friendly and attentive. They helped every way they could, prepared cake and candle for my partner’s birthday dinner. Much appreciated! We had a lovely time at the farm.

NorwayCan't think of much!
The bed and bedding were so comfortable. The barrel sauna was a great experience after the long drive from Biei. The breakfast was made with very local produce, and it was delicious. The staff was friendly and provided useful information far ahead of our arrival (about, for example, checking in and using the sauna).

CanadaAbsolutely wonderful stay. Every detail in this place has been thoughtfully attended to. The house itself was wonderful to stay in, the area is serene and relaxing, and the food was outstanding. If you make it out this way, this is a place you must stay at. The couple who run it were friendly and engaging, and speak excellent English (if that matters to you).

United StatesThe family that owns this farm, especially the wife, are warm, caring and attentive. Much of the food was grown on their farm or neighboring farms and the food was home cooked. The Farm Diary tour was a more fun than I could have imagined. Because we were are very social people, they threw a pizza party on our second night and invited neighboring farmers that just moved earlier this year from Arizona! We had a great time.

SingaporeLocation - we were able to reach the place more easily with a car. If you do not have a car, you will have to get off at Shirataki JR station and possibly walk? We didn't see a taxi in the city. Amenities - there is only 1 toilet and 1 bathroom in the house. Hence if you are travelling with a larger group, this might be a problem. There were only 2 of us, so it was fine for us.
Location - the area was very peaceful, there was a large field in front of the house. Very little light pollution, you can see many stars at night if you are interested in stargazing (hope for non-cloudy days!). If you would like to disconnect/ bask in nature, this is an excellent place, the nights are very quiet (you can hear the wind blow across the field). On mornings, the view of the mountains through the large window in the living area is very good. Air is very fresh~ Facilities - the living space within the house is very large. There are 4 bedrooms (2 with western beds upstairs, 2 for futons downstairs), there is even a room with a kotatsu for winter. The kitchen is well-equipped with 3 stoves, large basin and large area for food prep, knives, cutlery are all provided. We were able to cook comfortably on many occasions. The bin area is well-labelled with instructions to guide newbies (us) on how to properly classify and dispose of waste in Japan (I hope we did it right). Cleanliness - house is very clean when we entered :) Water - the kitchen sink has a filtered tap which you can safely drink from. Amenities - shampoo, conditioner and body soap, detergent for washing machine are provided. Plenty of hangers in every room. Thank god for the fly swatter, helped us take out a spider. WIFI connection was great, no issues. Food - breakfast was very worth it for 1500 JPY per pax. Thank you for letting us sample the potatoes that you have grown from your fields and produce from neighboring farms (e.g. milk and egg). The potatoes very nice. We ordered Sukiyaki for 4500 JPY for 2, it was worth it with the spread of vegetables, meat and udon.

SingaporeNot a problem but a point of note for those interested in booking. Water to the farmhouse is apparently ground water so it smells a little earthy. Not an issue for drinking as the kitchen sink has a filter installed, though one might be surprised when bathing. Again, not a problem, and it’s understandable given the location.
That we had the entire house to ourselves; this would be excellent for larger groups of travelers such as families. The laundry facilities were much appreciated. Dinner was fantastic. House was comfortable and would be great for a longer stay.

CanadaNothing.
An absolute gem of a property. We enjoyed every moment. The house was clean and had absolutely everything that you’d need and more. The only regret was not being able to stay longer. This was my first time touring Hokkaido and we’ve stayed in 8 hotels. Ezura Farm was the best stay of all. Thank you for the warm welcome. WE WILL BE BACK!

IsraelNothing. Everything was perfect.
Everything, the entire house is family friendly and the level of attention to detail is spectacular- from the look and feel (sheets, design, furniture) to the cleanliness (spotless!) To the functionality - everything you need down to the amount of spoons, paper cups for washing your teeth, TV and AC in every room, panoramic view of the fields, games and toys for the children - everything was clean and working with no missing pieces!! it is better equipped and designed than my own home! In addition, the hostess Yoko is very attentive and responsive - whatever we needed she helped, whether it's providing us with bicycles even from the neighbors, or fresh milk from the dairy farm. She is also a wonderful cook and we had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and every day Yoko would cook different meals and serve them fresh, and every bite was an absolute delight. Would definitely stay again.

United StatesThe location is a great spot to see the natural beauty of Hokkaido and enjoy a view at rural life. We ate well with a mix of Western and Japanese meals often made with produce from the farm itself. We helped out the full day we were at the farm which was a great and fun experience as well to see what the daily life is like on the farm (we also got to eat for free that day for volunteering). The guest house is very comfortable and spacious for small and large groups as well.
