Authentic experience, lots of room, really nice atmosphere!

For foreign tourists: As this is an old building, the walls are very thin (you can literally listen to the neighbors TV if they turn up the volume) and there is virtually no insulation. If you stay in winter (as I did) you should be prepared that the heating will not be up to European standards as you're basically just two sheets of paper away from the cold outside. If the temperature outside is above 10°C it was fine with me. When it got colder it was not that comfortable anymore. I tried using the laundry machine, but the (provided) black towel I had washed to see if I got the settings right had picked up a lot of grey fluff after washing was completed, so I didn't want to wash my clothes... but maybe it was my mistake, because I'm not very experienced in using Japanese laundry machines. Annoying for me: You get a message prior to checkout which tells you that you will be charged 1000 Yen if you overstay even a few minutes. I've only known this from love hotels... I can understand that you charge an additional fee if someone overstays a lot, but give at least a bit of leeway (~15-30 minutes is quite common?). I don't like that kind of unnecessary pressure when checking out.

For foreign tourists: This is an old Japanese style building - so it has a really nice atmosphere (with the garden and the verandas, etc.) and there is quite a lot of space. But make sure to be considerate of the neighbours (don't make noise, etc.)!

Heaters were only in the bedrooms so the rest of the house, particularly the bathroom could get cold. A bit of a walk from the Ito train station.

Superb character property with really beautiful, stylish rooms and a warm, homely feel. Well equipped kitchen and efficient heaters.

It was in a really quiet residential neighbourhood, BUT this was clearly mentioned up front so just something to mention - not necessarily a bad thing

It was a somewhat traditional style Japanese house - very clean, well-maintained, good amenities and instructions (also for the area)

The WiFi login info was a little tricky to find. It was in the house manual, but not in the check-in info. The street to the house is quite narrow, so it's a little tense sometimes when cars are going both ways.

The home is lovely, well furnished and comfortable. The WiFi was fast. Water pressure in the shower was great! I love the little garden behind the house.

The place did not live up to our expectations. It was not clean although they charge a 50€ cleaning fee (hair in the bed and smelly towels) and the place smelled moldy. The kitchen equipment worked for just the two of us, but I don’t see how you can cook for potentially 10 people with one small pot and one pan. It was also very cold.

We liked Ito as a city but not the accommodation.

One of our best stays in Japan.

The location is quit out of the center and not easily accessible by public transport. But walking is oke, except when it rains ;-)

Push house was one of our best stays in Japan until yet! The house was amazing (traditional but in that amazing!). The house was HUGE! With a nice (but slightly outdated) kitchen. A traditionl living room with low table. A giant bedroom with two big beds. The futon beds turned out to be super comfortable mattresses so we had a great nights sleep. The shower had so much power that it almost blew your skin off (in a good way). And there was even a small “ tea room” that totally added to the traditional Japanese atmosphere. Although we never met the host, communications where super easy and friendly. He even remotely arranged a taxi for us to get back to the train station in pouring rain. All over the weather was medium during our stay. But this was fine. We stayed for two nights and took things nice and slow. And even that added to the great atmosphere Push House has. And it was super cheap! :D

Very traditional. Gave us the full Japan experience. House was exceptionally helpful. We will book again if we visited Japan next time.
