Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsIt's a small hotel near Asakusa Station. The rooms are really spacious by Japanese standards, and there was both a shower and a bathtub. It's located in a quiet area, though it's about a 15-minute walk to Asakusa Station. We chose this hotel as the first stop of our trip, and it turned out to be a great place to explore Asakusa at a relaxed pace. The price-quality ratio is very good. The hotel itself doesn't have any special features, but at that moment, we didn't need anything more.

United KingdomLovely little hotel, cheap and cheerful but excellent for anyone wanting to explore Tokyo. Asakusa is a lovely part of the city and easily accessible to lots of other great areas.

CanadaThe wifi was very very slow and unusable most pf the time. The location is also close to a bus stop but I wished we had picked a place that was closer to a metro stop instead, just because of how fares work in Tokyo.
Bathroom was very clean and nice to use.

IndonesiaThe only complain i have is probably the location of the TV which is off centered and some of the paint at the bottom wall are already chipped off but it didn't bother the experience at all
The facilities are abundant and the given facilites were easy to use (i.e the washing machine). The room was big and very cozy the room i got has the bed elevated with enough room to store your luggage under the bed to give more walking room if needed. The staff spoke english which was easy to grasp for everything and was kind enough to answer a few questions cause of how clueless i was the first day i arrived at Tokyo. Over all a good stay. (The images are taken when i checked out so everything is already worn but onced checked in the room is well organized)

United StatesRooms were showing their age. The walls could use fresh paint/wall paper. Internet was a little spotty.
Close to Sensoji, konbinis, Sumida river, and 6 minutes walk to the limousine bus stop (to Haneda Airport ) at Asakusa view hotel. Also appreciated the clean, modern bathrooms and room service. Check-in staff was polite.

United Statesmy bed literally fell apart halfway through the trip, the staff offered to move us to a different hotel because they were fully booked, we obviously did not want to do that so they took the bedframe out and i slept on a mattress the last 2 nights. the staff were so apologetic and even gave us fruit and snacks as an apology but it was a little bit of a funky situation lol.

AustraliaThere was a bit of a cigarette smell that lingered in the hallways. It's a bit of a tight squeeze in the twin room. The rooms need a bit of a refresher, i.e. labelling of emergency exit information had different hotel name. Minor details but would make the space more cohesive. If you arrive early, staff will store your luggage in the lobby with other guest's bags, so just be mindful of that (although there is CCTV looking at the area FYI)
Close to the bus stop that takes you Asakusa/ Sensoji Temple, but you can easily walk there as well. During Cherry Blossom season, the main road was lined with them. It's quite a good spot. The bathroom is clean and has refillable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. With a bidet-type toilet. Other basic amenities like toothbrushes, shavers, etc, were included in the room with top ups in the lobby.. The bedding was comfortable and soft, the air-con was great as well. There is a spot in the lobby where you can eat and fill up a water bottle. It seems like there is someone at the desk 24-hour incase you need help.

SlovakiaMy hotel room only had one window, which was located in the bathroom. A/C was blasting cold air directly to the bed from above, so you either have no oxygen or you freeze in sleep…
Good value for the price. You can find few affordable parking lots close to hotel if you need it for your rental car.

PhilippinesWe tried using their coin operated dryer for our clothes but it wasn't very effective. We had to let them dry in our room with the warmer on.
The price is good for a double room with private bathroom. The room we got was the same price as other capsule hotels but with more privacy. It was a bit cramped for two people with big luggages but I guess that's normal in Tokyo. The bathroom is also spacious compared to other hotels. It had a shower area and separate bathtub. Location is also good too. It's at the quieter side of Asakusa and within walking distance from Senso-ji temple. Some say the train stations are too far, but we actually didn't mind the walk at all. The restaurants and izakayas in the area were all good and affordable too. Definitely good value for money.

Singaporethe bedroom is very small, smaller than the photo. it’s like 2 super single bed mattress for 4 people, instead of 2 queen size bed. However, it is bigger than some other hotels in tokyo. The location is a bit far from metro asakusa station, about 18 minutes from the exit A2b with lift. 15 minutes from metro Tawaramachi Station.
the staff can speak chinese and japanese. they allow us to leave the luggage with them for 5 days while we travel around to other places. they reply messages frequently. there are washing machine and drying machine available. the bath and toilet is very comfortable and spacious.
