Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWonderful location, comfortable rooms and delicious food. Tea time and cocktail hour in the lounge were absolutely fantastic. Excellent facilities and complimentary shuttle bus to the station. The staff were very pleasant. The only thing that would make the stay perfect would be access to tea/coffee in the lobby prior to check in. My sister and I had flown in the night before and travelled a long way, arriving exhausted around 1pm. We understood that we would not be able to access our room until 3pm but were happy to enjoy the beautiful lake view from the lobby lounge until then. There is a tea and coffee machine there, but it is not available to use until 2pm. But this is just a minor thing in an otherwise wonderful weekend!

United StatesOne of the staff members who spoke English well came across as very rude and unhelpful. We asked for information about trains and she said there are many and we have to figure it out. She was also rude a couple of other times when we asked about basic information about the hotel. She was uninterested whenever we tried to speak to her. We loved everything else about the place.

United StatesThis was the amazing stay I’ve ever been. It was such a beautiful and relaxing stay to decompress and take in Mt. Fuji air after a couple days in Tokyo. The onsen was incredible! The food was perfect and exceeded our expectations!! 🤩💫✨

United KingdomNot allowed to take drinks from buffet out into lobby. Would be nice to be able to sit in this area for the lake view and enjoy a glass of wine. Yukata provided with instruction that you are allowed to wear to relax in your room, hotel grounds and club lounge. When we wore for breakfast before using onsen, we got lots of judging stares from other guests as everyone else was dressed in own clothes.
Booked the connecting room which had private onsen style bath. Food was great, buffet 'light bites' was enough for an evening. Some vegetarian options, I think vegan would struggle. Also has vending machines for more drinks. Very relaxing atmosphere with beautiful lake view. Right next to ropeway for some sightseeing.

SingaporeHotel interior is very nice and it provides free access to lounge for tea and evening cocktail, food is exceptionally sumptuous and delicious and wide choices of alcohol and drinks. Public bath is free for hotel guests too. The only downside is the road going up the hotel is steep and narrow and not very visible from the road.

New ZealandWonderful splurge staying here. It was snowing on my arrival so was handy to use the shuttle service (after calling them from pay phone at station). Not too far to walk from station although it is up a hill. Right next door to Ropeway. Heating in room was a bit noisy but I’m a very light sleeper (and it was too cold to leave it off) Being vegan there wasn’t many options for me to eat with the included meals. But if you’re not fussy there is loads to choose from! I didn’t use public Onsen as staff said due to large tattoos I’d need to go early morning or late at nite. I used the private Onsen which was a lovely treat but very expensive.

IsraelThey had laundry which is great, but the drying took a lot of time. No elevator though the hotel offered to take the luggage to the room. Shuttle service ends at 9 pm. But those were minor inconviniences.
Excellent dinner, listed as buffet (with lot of variety and even lot of alcohol variety), good breakfast. Beautiful view of the lake from the lobby. Coffee machine and chocolates in the lobby. Parking. Large room. Good public onsen. Overwall one of the better hotels we stayed in in Japan.

PortugalIt's not clearly comunicated that the hotel is located high on a hill and there is basically no way you can make it to the hotel with the luggage. Thus you MUST ask for transfer whether you are getting there from the nearest train station or taking any alternative route. You MUST call the reception and ask to pick you up as the entrance is not reachable on foot even from the closest bus station as it is downhill.
Amazing lake view. Great food selection and quility in the Lounge. Spacious rooms and very comfortable beds and linen.

BrazilThere could have been a better concierge.
Amazing location with Kawaguchiko lake facing you the whole time, from the lobby to your room, from the fireplace to your bath. They have three really good meals a day, I wasn't expecting that. The staff is lovely and the main onsen has also got a view. The thing I liked the most was the bedroom, you just want to relax forever in there. Easy to catch a bus on the main street, but you gotta have strong legs to come back all the way up.
