Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe beds were worse than sleeping on the floor, a futon would’ve been better. The wifi was slow and allowed for basic email reading and little more.
It was very clean, had nice showers and a good location. It had a very good price for the location and convenience.

United StatesI've been backpacking and camping for 3 months through Indonesia and Thailand. In all that time this was the most uncomfortable bed I slept on. The rainforest floor was more comfortable. I woke up feeling insanely sore. Bathroom and showers were dirty.
Great location near the train station, just a couple minute walk. Perfect if you have an early morning flight.

United KingdomThere were quite a lot of cockroaches, which I found very surprising, and the room was pretty unclean and dusty around the edges. I even took it upon myself to clean some of the skirting boards and grooves in the bed ladders. I think this is a little strange given that there is a fairly substantial cleaning fee added to the price, even though I feel that this should be included in the room charge. Unfortunately I couldn't do anything about the cockroaches. I was also frustrated by the noise from some of the other residents at the time due to the lack of soundproofing, but I suppose this is normal in Japan.
The location was great - really close to the station and close to the vibrant area of Kawasaki. This was also a great place from which to take day trips to Kamakura and Yokohama, and it wasn't too far from Shinagawa for the Shinkansen to Osaka and Kyoto etc. I found the beds to be comfy and I liked that the rooms were private, as it is hard to find such places in Tokyo at this pricepoint. It was great that there was a washer and dryer available to use and kitchen facilities too. The wifi was fast enough for me to do my work (including some video calls) and the place was pretty peaceful overall, though some guests were quite inconsiderate and noisy at times and the walls and doors offer little sound proofing. Nonetheless, it was quite a cosy, peaceful little sanctuary to return to after long days of walking around Tokyo.

AustraliaThe room smelled sweaty we had the window open which is obviously not the best while having the air con running but it was okay. I also asked if we could drop off our luggage since check in at 4 is very late! but even though it was a house with multiple rooms and we could have left it in an area that looked like the reception I guess that was to much afford for the owner... If not this I would have rated it is 8 since the price is unbeatable.
Great value, bed was comfy, good location and easy check in

PortugalThe mattress was super uncomfortable, almost non existent. The toilet is far away from the sink to the wash hands. Wouldn’t recommend more than a night to be honest. Super expensive for the quality.
Kinda close to the airport (12/15 min by metro), fast responding to the messages, private room.

MalaysiaNot applicable. It was a perfect overnight stay.
I did not pay for breakfast. I don't think there was breakfast option. The picture shown in the website described the room size well. It is small but sufficient for two. Shared shower and toilets. But there are two showers and toilets on the upper floor. There is a wash basin placed in the corridor. There was one pantry on the upper floor. Very comfortable for a short stay. I took the room for a transit since flight reached at Haneda 10.35 pm. Need to rush for the train before midnight. It was a perfect overnight stay since it is very near to Haneda. Reached the nearest station to the property just before midnight.

RussiaThe beds were rough, not really comfy. Some places seemed not that much clean, like washbasin. One day the electronic lock on the door turned off (the batteries died) and we had to knock until some other guest opened a door for us. I guess the owner would have come to open, but it's really not nice that we had to wait to get inside (and it was quite cold outside!). On the next day the lock was turned off, but some of the guests locked the door from the inside and we had to knocked again... So I'd say other guests were the main problem. On the last day some drunk nut (clearly a foreigner by his voice and accent) screamed for a few hours that he will kill someone.
Place is located right around metro station, wich is extremly nice. It's also located in a good part of city and you can travel south to some nice places or to center of Tokyo in about half an hour. The price is exellent, almost the best in the city, so all the minuses of the place are outweight by the low price. The owner is quick to respond, the rooms are small, but okay in size. There is a fridge and a small table and two rooms. For two ppl there was enough place (we had a lot of stuff to carry). Everything worked, everything was in place.

PhilippinesNow this is where we start with the things I didn't like. Starting off with the location. Again, this place is quite far out. It took us an hour from the place to get to Shinjuku or Shibuya and an hour and a half even just to get to Skytree and Asakusa so it's very inconvenient in that sense. Imagine having to travel two hours every day just to get to the tourist locations. That's what we did. We also worked around it somewhat so instead of going to Tokyo tourist spots we just went to other locations that were closer like Chinatown in Yokohama and the Giant Buddha in Kamakura. Looking for this place via Google Maps was also tricky because the name of the place on Google Maps was different but it looks the same so we just consider it as the same place. It was called Grandouce Rokugoudote. I suggest that they change the name so that it matches. The next thing I didn't like about this place was the sound insulation. I guess you don't really have a choice if there are strangers living near you but then again if somebody is moving around, talking, snoring or just the train nearby passing by you can hear everything. If you are a light sleeper it's gonna bug you so much. Also, when the train passes by you can feel your bed shaking. This might also be a deal breaker for you. You can also clearly hear if someone is doing laundry in your room, or when the door lock has an error and an alarm will play. When it comes to sleep, you might not be too comfortable because they only provide some sort of futon instead of the mattress. It's really gonna depend on you if you can sleep well or not but in our case we were able to sleep just fine. Got a bit of backache I guess but overall we got her rest. I didn't like that there was no second chair in the room. They only had one chair provided. This sucks for the second person in the room because you can't sit on the side of the bed.
We stayed at the Ruma Inn Rokugoudote for seven days in February 2024 and this is my review. I'll start with a few things that I liked. I liked that the place was accurate when it came to all the amenities the building itself and what the room looks like in the pictures. It is very accurate. I like that there is a kitchen with a microwave and a heating kettle. I like that there is free laundry where I can wash and dry clothes and there is free detergent for us to use. I liked the fact that the shower and toilet area were fairly clean and there were free toiletries, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. I also liked that there's a mini fridge within the room so we can store the leftovers of everything that we got from the nearby supermarket. Having leftovers was clutch when you are hungry in the middle of the night and you don’t want to get dressed for the cold outside. The room had a table as well for us to eat on and a working AC/heater. Since we visited in Feb, it was soo cold outside that the heating function was very important. We also got a clean towel, a free toothbrush and a pair of slippers. Also one each. As for the location I liked the part where it is literally steps away from the closest train station and there is a nearby convenience store and supermarket. The last thing I liked about this place is that it's affordable and so much cheaper compared to the other places I looked at around Tokyo. My main gripe would be the location in comparison to the tourist spots that you usually go to in Tokyo.

AustraliaBed was really hard... Even if we don't use the shoes inside the house, the floors weren't that clean. Expensive for what it offers, even adding a Cleaning Fee you don't know the amount until you are about to pay. No common area. Kitchen and corridors are too narrow if you want to socialize.
As I booked for myself, It was nice to have my own room. Good aircon.

JapanThough I'm grateful I had somewhere to lay my head in a tight financially situation, the facilities, room and showers were quite grimey and mouldy. As someone with a mould allergy, this was the deciding factor in my review. The cleaners did a good job in the kitchen but the wallpaper and air-cons (upstairs) are desperate for a deep clean. The top of my fridge (206) kept producing moisture, and the inside of it had food crumbs inside. I'm glad the washing machine and dryer are free to use, though it would be a great investment to get a more powerful dryer to cut drying time by at least half. Other things I didn't like concerned the inconsiderate, noisy or untidy other guests, so I will factor them out because when nobody was home, my stay was more pleasant.
There are several toilets and multiple showers. I was really grateful to have a fridge in the room and a key for security. The location is also great as it is practically across the road from the station, a 7-eleven and a supermarket.
