Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaVery clean hotel, has a little kids play area which was entertaining for our kids. The onsen was good but would be better if it had a bathroom within the onsen area. The room was spacious for our family of 5. Breakfast was nice. Staff are very friendly. Would stay again!

United StatesThe room was beautiful. Large, with comfortable beds and 2 sitting areas. One looked at a large tv that we never turned on, the other at a maple tree just budding out and then across the valley. Lovely view. Fridge kept things cold. Easy chairs were not very comfortable and need upgrading. Onsen was my own private experience, as no one else was there. There is only indoor option. Breakfast was great. Japanese and international fare.

United KingdomThere are not many restaurants around, and the breakfast was very basic, I couldn’t eat rice and miso soup as breakfast, there were sausages and scrambled eggs but just not to my liking.
We loved the simplicity and the Onsen, the staff were lovely. So close to the park and other attractions, it was very peaceful.

United StatesLovely hotel. Very spacious room, good service, and even complimentary waters and a Hakone snack. It rained a lot when we went, so we used the large, well equipped smart TV to take a breather (YouTube, web browsing, etc. very nice touch). Didn't get to try the onsen unfortunately but I'm sure it was nice! Wish I booked for more days. They stored our luggage before and after our booking. And we avoided the rain before check-in by staying in the lobby without issues.

5 minute walk from Gora station Staff were very friendly and helpful Onsen was comfortable and only 150 yen a night per guest. Breakfast had plenty of food.

IrelandThe room is lovely and spacious and on the 3rd floor you have a nice view of the mountains. Really enjoyed the onsen, one of the days it was very hot but after adding some cold water the temperature was good and we were able to enjoy it. The breakfast was delicious, my friend has a sesame allergy and the staff gave her a note one her breakfast tray stating all the dishes in the breakfast that had sesame in it. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay.

It is a great location and very close to Gora station so access to the cable car that takes you to the rope way to see odawara volcano and lake Ashi is easy. If you want dinner be mindful that most things close early and what we did was got off the cable car at the first stop so not to have to walk up the high hills to get to a very good dinner and the bar and grill and the pizza shop. The hill is a killer so catching the cable car is so much easier. We stayed in Japanese style room, it was ok, everything is clean and well kept and my husband enjoyed the onsen. Breakfast was good and Japanese style.
