Totally self service, which we really enjoyed. Spacious room even for 3 men. Expected more shared space/amenities, but overall a great stay. Really appreciated the free curry, cereal, etc. Such a beautiful area!

The location was great - not too far from bus station, just on the main road, very close to all points of interest. Big room with traditional vibe. Great host- gave good advice and kindly helped us to book evening meal- very tasty!!

Some basic food and snacks were provided, which was lovely! When we were leaving it was snowing heavily, so the host drove us to the bus station, which was super kind!

We had a bit of an issue with our aircon/heater but it was fixed by the staff, so all's good!

Wen arrived with our rental car, it was the end of February and it was snowing quite a bit. We woke up with our car full of snow, but by 10am, before we head out, we saw that the snow was cleared and our vehicle was ready to go. It turned out the owner of the property or the staff cleans the cars of the guests to make them ready to use. There was always free food on the table in the common area in the kitchen. I had kare rice, which was very good. Also, the house is near a Daily Yamazaki, so getting food or snacks is not a problem.

Very clean rooms, many complimentary foods and snacks, the staffs are very helpful and responsive. All instructions for check in were printed and clear, the handmade instruction books are also very creatively designed, love them☺️ location is near the main village, 10 mins walking. Will stay there again if I come to shirakawa next time.

we had a heavy big luggage so it was a bit challenging to bring up the steep staircase to the room on the 2nd floor. So, it is better to travel light when staying at this place.

The location is about 10min walk to the Shirakawa-go village and main bus terminal. The convenience store is just 1-2min walk away. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Curry rice and bread are available free and can even fry a sunny side-up for breakfast myself.

The location is fantastic—just about 1 km from the heritage village, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Waking up to the stunning view of snow-covered mountains, trees, and the river through the window was a highlight of my trip. The room was small but cozy, perfect for a peaceful stay. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the dining area was a lovely touch, especially with the handwritten guidebooks about Shirakawa-go. The free rice and curry, along with the option to use whatever was in the fridge, made it feel very homely and welcoming. On the day of checkout, I accidentally left my keys in the room, but the host went out of their way to help me retrieve them—so kind and accommodating! Overall, it was a wonderful stay with great hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone visiting this beautiful heritage village.

Tv wasn’t working and wifi got slow and disconnected at times. We only stay a night hence those were minor to us.
