Is not bad if you come with own transport (rented car), if you come with public transport (bus), is just little walking distance (about 1 km) from main spots. But it is still acceptable.

The view from the room is nice, that I came during snowing, is nice when you look out of the window. Host has prepare some simple food like Japanese curry with rice, some toast for us if you arrived too late or have to leave early in the morning. Easy to move around in the house. Host also prepare a booklet that helpful for tourist where they indicate what good restaurant to go, their operation time, where to visit, so if you haven't prepare, the information is all done by host.

The other customers were a bit loud even its late night. Should have reminded them to lower their volume after midnight . One more toilet would be better.

The rooms got quite cold in the night but hiding under the futon helps!

Very very very nice owners! They left lots of food in the room, with curry rice for all the guests + lots for breakfast (because there are very little restaurants in the night). The futons were very comfortable, and it was probably the nicest stay of the trip! We really appreciate the interaction we had with the owner's family at Takayama, thank you so much for making our trip special!

Lovely homely feel, owner was very lovely and accomodating. The room was very cozy in the winter. Lots of nice personal touches including a guidebook they had personally made for the local area with lots of great tips on places to go as well as information on the history of the area.

We got a little cold and needed an extra blanket. The air conditioning didn't warm our room enough.

Breakfast was good and greatly appreciated as there ore no cafes open in Shirakawa until 10am and all close by 3pm. So dinner at a restaurant is not possible. Our hosts provided a simple dinner and breakfast that we greatly appreciated.

Very clean accomodation which has all the amenities you need. The bathroom and toilets were very clean. The bedroom was spacious and has heating, and the bed was also comfy. Naoki is very hospitable and responsive. We were very grateful that Naoki offered to drop us off to the bus stop when it was raining. We really enjoyed our stay here, thank you! I would highly recommend this place to everyone.

Very friendly and responsive host Naoki Amazing Kitchen amenities (rice, sauce, condiments, even baguette, drinks in fridge etc), possibility to cook which is great in a village where there is not much restaurant choice. They was only one shower for the guests. Fortunately we didn’t have to wait but a few people I noticed a few people did have to wait. There was no tea available to drink.

There was bread, jam and butter provided for breakfast in the morning and curried sauce and rice for tea, as well as lots of fresh mandarin and juice in the fridge that you could help yourself to. We also had a very comfortable room and it was a quiet place so we were able to get a good night’s sleep. We really liked the small touch of having the three information books were great for us to read and learn about Shirokawago.

Nothing - Naoki exceeded our expectations. Everything was perfect.

Very thoughtful and responsive host - Naoki. Delighted to find fresh local milk, bread, rice , snacks and, new jars of jam, pre-made curry for us. Location was superb as it was walkable to restaurants and convenience store. It was only a few minutes drive away from the main village. The house heating was great as it was chilly in mid Nov. The dual clothes washer and dryer was very handy as we stayed 4 nights. We were running a little late from the check out time and Naoki was kind enough to give our family abit more time to finishing packing. We look forward to visiting in a different season.

Nice setup of the house , clean and great hospitality from the owner and staff.

Initially I rented a car from Nagoya to Shirakawago but I hv to cancelled my plan as partially of the road was closed due to the snow. I called the owner and thank God that he speak English fluently and guided me on how to take a speed train from Nagoya to Takayama. When I reach Takayama, he waited for me and my family and bring us to purchase the final bus ride to Shirakawago. When we reach Shirakawago, his staff is there to drive us to the house. This is helpful as we can’t walk as the road is full with thick snow. The owner even gets us some rice and food since it is late when we reach Shirakawago. Me and my family are really thankful to the help and hospitality of the owner, Mr Naoki. Shirakawago is a very nice place and I strongly recommend you to visit the place and stay in Way Shirakawago. Thank you Mr Naoki for doing extra to help me and my family during our visit to Shirakawago 👍🙏

saw one fart bug in apartment ; but did not give us trouble ; as long as you leave them alone and not stress or crush them ; host gave helpful info on them ;

The room smelt a little musky when we entered.

Little tips, guides and instructions were provided for us. The room was spacious for 3 pax and 3 luggage. The owner also provided us with bread, spreads and drinks for our breakfast. Snacks were also provided upon our arrival. There’s a space outside for you to park your vehicle for those of you who are planning to drive. Overall a good stay, very close to Shirakawa-go.
