How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

A nice hotel in the very heart of Shibuya junction Rooms were nice, medium size Bath and aroma in the room was a great treat at the end of the day Shame that they don't have an Onsen for guests though

We had a nice stay here. It's a bit complicated to get in and out of, since it is located in a shopping complex above the station, so you need to take two elevators to get from the rooms to the street.

I’m SO glad I booked this hotel! The location was fantastic, and the view from our bed was amazing! The staff was super hospitable at check in and reserving us taxis a couple of times during our stay. Housekeeping was so good and I really liked their system for requesting “eco” clean or full housekeeping. The entire hotel was so clean. Very happy with everything about our stay here!!

The room I booked was very small for 2 people, and - as many hotels in Tokyo - the mattress was super firm (a bit too hard for me).

We first stayed at Shibuya Stream Hotel during our honeymoon last year, and we loved it so much that we came back this year to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Without a doubt, this is our favorite hotel in all of Japan. Everything about this place is simply exceptional — from its stunning modern design to the perfect location right in the heart of vibrant Shibuya. The hotel manages to feel both lively and peaceful at the same time, making it the ideal escape after a day exploring the city. The staff are incredibly warm, professional, and genuinely kind. They made us feel welcomed and celebrated during both our stays, adding personal touches that made the experience feel truly special. Every detail is thoughtfully taken care of, from the room cleanliness to the atmosphere of the lobby, and even the smallest amenities feel curated with care. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this hotel. It continues to exceed our expectations, and it holds a very special place in our hearts. If you’re a sensitive to noise sleeper I’d recommend brining ear plugs as you’re in the very thick of Shibuya and there are sirens throughout the night from the street.
The lobby and rooms were very stylish and larger than other rooms we had in Japan. Location fantastic to Shibuya station and the scramble. Staff were very helpful.

Pricing was high overall for all services the hotel provided. But this was quite consistent across Tokyo.
The hotel was very central to Shibuya Crossing and was attached to the train station, so very convenient for transit. The room was very comfortable, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was a bit pricey, but was buffet style and all you can eat. Overall, quality of this hotel was great.
