The most beautiful and warm guesthouse I have ever stayed in. The common area was particularly great, the windows facing out to the mountains were amazing. No faults at all!!! Shirakawa-go is a small town with nothing much open at night so prepare for that by stocking up at the convenience store. It’s about a 10 min walk away from the guesthouse. There is a very small family-run convenience store that is closer but is cash only (try to go there if you can! The staff are lovely). The staff at the guesthouse were unreal! So helpful from as soon as we arrived. Make sure to book their bus terminal shuttle before you get there, don’t make our mistake and try to do the walk cause it isn’t fun! They were funny, kind and always willing to help with anything at all. This was my favourite place I stayed in through all of Japan and I couldn’t recommend it more. Thank you so much for having us! We’re forever grateful.

In common areas was cold (the toilet, showers, etc.). Water in the showers could be a bit hotter.

Very friendly and happy staff - a lot of positive energy! Free shuttle bus. Very nice and good place in the warm months.

The location was a bit far from the bus terminal. We arrived around 5pm, it was dark with lots of snow and the walk from the bus terminal to the INN was a little difficult.

The property was excellant. Truly value for money. The cost was very very good in comparison to some of the other properties in this location. The property was very aesthetic and good value for money. Enjoyed our stay.

The staff was very personable and extremely kind. It was a small, cozy place with many great spots to eat nearby. Overall I had perfect time here and I would love to stay here again.

The location is walking distance around 15 min from the Shirawakago terminal bus. There are restaurants and convenient store nearby. The staffs are helpful and informative.

Walls are really thin so you can immediately hear noise from the other rooms. Its a good walk from the bus station so its quite a hassle to bring luggage especially during winter.

Staff was really nice and welcoming. Nonetheless, our stay was pretty comfortable as the facilities were clean. They offer a free shuttle to and from the bus station which is also nice but there is a set time for it.

Love this place! Very cozy environment and nice host. Overall facilities are well maintained. Really appreciate the pickup service since the guesthouse is 20 minutes walking distance from the main station. They sell snacks & cup noodles at the guesthouse but be reminded that there aren’t any restaurants/ convenience store nearby.

No complaints with the rate pay , I do make another reservation/ stay at Shirawago No Yu with bf and dinner cost X 4.5 times higher …

Very clean , staff is friendly , with small signboard outside even all the house look the same .value for money where it’s about 2.5 km away to the Gassho~zukuri 合掌村。

A bit far from the Shirakawago Observation deck, 20 minutes walk to the property. It would be nice if they have shuttle to and from the lookout, even with a fee.

It is quite a bit out from where the bus drops you off and you sort of need to figure your own way there, which Google maps says is like 20 mins, it actually was more like 40 mins with a huge suitcase (also bonus note for those getting dropped off at the visitor center during winter time, take the first bridge, the Seseragi Bridge, not the second bridge, the second bridge pathway was iced over when I took it and I had to carefully lug the suitcase over the icy bridge whilst cars zoomed past me without slipping, a smart traveller would have taken the first bridge, of which I was not). The rooms themselves are a bit small and awkward, I wanted to hang my clothes within my room, but it seems there are no hooks inside of the room to do so, you have to hang it outside the room.

The room was really cosy and warm. There was a free shuttle bus that takes you to the visitor center in the morning which is really nice. I quite liked talking with other fellow travellers.

We were so lucky that it has 2 rooms to accommodate us during a peak autumn season. We drive there and able to park just outside the inn.

You can hear everything in your room from the other rooms as those seem to be just self made / cardboard rooms. It wasn't a major deal after official silent time but until then it was hard to deal with.

It was awkward to have to go down stairs to the toilet during the night, especially for my 80 year old mother, but that seems to be quite common for this style of accommodation.

The guest house was well set up and clean. Very comfortable. It was a reasonably affordable option in a very popular location. Staff were helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

The place is lovely, the shared spaces are clean and always in order. The hosting staff gent was super kind to us, he went way way above and beyond to help us out in the bus station with change. We would come back without thinking twice! Thank you so much!

Quite specific check-in times but easy to work to - not a real problem.

Really lovely hosts - very helpful & friendly. Very peaceful area. The lounge & kitchen facilities were nice & much appreciated, especially as a convenience store is close. Room was clean & comfortable. An easy 20minute walk into the old town/bus terminal. The bus to/from the east (Takayama) is a 30second walk away. Good value compared to other places in the town.

Everything was very clean and just as described. I very much liked my night at this guesthouse and found the staff very friendly. The possibility to rent a bicycle is great if you want to go and explore the village.

You can buy instant noodles here. And they are partly vegan! That's really neat. The view from here is nice and the staff is really helpful with everything!
