Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeLocation was between the station and main castle area; means you can walk to anyway in 20 mins. After 3 days , legs were really sore. Not a lot of restaurants around for dinner- best for 2 nights stay and not more. Breakfast was same day 1 and day 3, so can be better.
Mostly a self-serviced hotel from check in to checkout We had the deluxe wide and hence rooms were large and spacious. Can do with more storage space though. Hardly space to store luggage and stuff Good size public bath in the hotel , and nice touch to offer a drink after.

NetherlandsAs could be expected the Onsen did not allow tattoos. This was a disappointment as we saw on social media that this hotel did allow tattoos. The mobile website Q&A malfunctions and so we did not find this out in time. As could be expected the staff was insisting I was not allowed in the Onsen. Also the hotel closes down restaurant/the breakfast area, so you can not use this area to relax or have a drink. There is no other lounge. So you're locked down in your room.
The location was great - just across the market - and the rooms clean and the hotel overall nicely designed. Nice view from the room. The Onsen was OK, nothing special. It's not far from the station and with some effort you can walk to the city center and other touristic areas, but this does take around 30 minutes.

CanadaThe rooms are very small with little to no space for your luggage or clothes. There were nowhere to hang your towels, no lounge area for guests to congregate. The location was a little far from Kanazawa Station.
Cool modern hotel with helpful staff and free meiji iced lattes in the public bath. The best part was the nice scented body wash and hand soap.

CroatiaLayout of the room (corner room) is a bit weird. Tatami is really nice but it uses a lot of the space and you end up using it for luggage because there is no other space for wardrobe - which is really disappointing. That way you easily end up with a room full of stuff on the floor and tatami. In my opinion, the TV is totally unnecessary in this position and it makes this relatively big room feel tiny and a bit claustrophobic. Also, Hotel does not have any lounge or anything similar like a bar.
Clean rooms, water dispenser and coin laundry. Welcome snack was really nice and Yukata was provided

GermanyIt's great to have kimonos and yukatas in the room, however, they used up the sparse hooks and we had to do some rearranging to at least hang some of our clothing. The "eco cleaning" was very basic, I wished they had at least exchanged the used cups. The receptionist rinsed them for me, but it was awkward asking. I also didn't understand why they had a cumbersome self-check in if in the end they had three people assisting guests in the lobby.
Stylish hotel, clean as expected from a Japanese hotel. Thoughtful details such as a small welcoming treat and a little station where you can fill your own wooden scent sache. We two had a family room which could accommodate four people, the two double beds filled almost the entire room, hence there was not a lot of space for our luggage. The bathroom is nice and large, I would prefer if the sink was also in the bathroom for added privacy. Nice onsen, nothing super special but ok. Great to have laundry facility in house. Location is very central.

IndonesiaI left my Airpods in the room and didn't remember it until I checked out but they could not find them. I was quite disappointed but I understand it was my fault to forget it in the first place. It would've been a perfect stay otherwise.
The hotel is great and have a spa vibe. We like the public onsen but the room was a bit small for us. We booked the double room for 4 people.

United StatesThe check-in procedure was quick and felt rushed. We weren’t provided enough information about the property. Our room was nice but the tv had a huge scratch on it which we informed the front desk of. We were not planning to watch it but it was disappointing to see in the room. This might be a small matter but we had been to 4 hotels before arriving in Kanazawa. All the other hotels provided its guests with water in their room, Soki did not.
The cleanliness and style of our room was appealing. They had a laundry room with shoe dryers, a water dispenser, and vending machine. It was raining when we went to Kanazawa so the shoe dryers were great.

Czech RepublicThe room was however not spacious enough to comfortably unpack more than 2 pieces of luggage - which is quite normal for Japan. If you're on a long trip and bringing a few pieces of luggage, I would opt for a bigger room. The biggest let down was however the breakfast. The hotel serves Japanese-style breakfast only and cannot comodate guests with other preferences.. The presentation of the meal was beautiful, however the portion was overall quite small - one bowl of rice, one bowl of miso and a few nibbles of mostly cold seafood. No fruits, no fresh vegetables. The only beverage the restaurant serves is (I presume) green tea. No coffee, which we found peculiar- given it was breakfast after all. We tried to cancel the next day's breakfast but we would not be refounded, which is unfortunate given the price per person.
The hotel was visibly new and well designed. Its location was quite convenient as well, as it is just across the street from Omicho market. The room was comfortable and well suited for a late night Netflix binge. Unfortunately, due to out schedule we didn't have chance to visit the onsen. However, the hotel sells tattoo-covering stickers which is always nice.

FranceMattress on the floor is WAY too soft and breaks your back No space for luggage There are employees but it's more of an assistance. Check in is automated, they won't forward your luggage to the next hotel (only hotel that doesn't offer this out of the 20ish I have stayed in Japan) Laundry is always busy (Busy ad midnight and 5 AM...) No real desk or table to sit in the room Not sure given all of these points, how this a 4-star hotel barely meets the requirements of a 3-star. A JR Inn would be better in all the above mentioned points

Singapore1) Check-in was chaotic with a long queue and guests didn’t quite know what to do. Understaffed 2) Entrance poor - the ledge for luggages to be pushed up or down was too steep and narrow. A struggle if you have big suitcases 3) Change or additional towels not allowed until we insisted 4) Tap in room’s attached bathroom for turning on the shower is too low; one has to stoop to turn on shower! 5) Mattress a little too soft

MexicoThe room was way too small. It was just uncomfortably tight. Literally nowhere to even place a small suitcase without blocking the hallway. I hope I'm not being too harsh, but it was just not a room that we were looking forward to get back to and relax in. Nice desing but too cramped. The onsen was great but a bit too crowded (which is understanable given the size of the onsen vs the size of the hotel) so I still appreciate them having an onsen nonetheless.
The hotel has a fantastic modern design with natural materials. The staff seemed somewhat inexperienced but always very willing to help. One staff member (Nakamura) was especially kind as she went out of her way to research for something we had asked and they didn't know the answer to. She later left us a handwritten letter under the door with the answers! That was a special and very appreciated gesture. The hotel has a convenient location - Half way between the main station/malls and the old town. Also right opposite the famous market.

AustraliaThis hotel didn’t have the service level that I would have expected for the price, stars and compared to other hotels we stayed at in Japan. We were travelling with a pram and rather than telling us there was an accessible access from the back, they just watched us carry the baby and the pram up and down the front steps for two days, until I walked around the back of the hotel and found it for myself. The key access didn’t let us in so we had to call someone to come and let us in manually each time - this was never a problem for the staff but it did restrict us coming and going a bit. This was also the first hotel we stayed at that did not offer the luggage delivery service that every other hotel we stayed at utilises. The room was not made up each day, only every second (towels were changed daily though), except for the third day when they didn’t enter the room at all and said it was because we didn’t put a magnet on the front of the door (which we weren’t advised to use). The photos of the rooms also make them appear much bigger than they are - we booked a corner room as it was bigger which we needed for our baby cot, but the entirety of the extra space was taken up with a table giving us nowhere to put the travel cot.
The location was excellent, and the public bath was lovely. Hotel lobby is has a beautiful aesthetic and is very modern.
