Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI had the pleasure of staying at this incredible hotel during my 25-day trip to Japan, and it was truly worth every penny. This hotel perfectly blends traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern comforts, surpassing even the experience of a Ryokan. The public bath is a must-try, offering a serene and authentic experience. Out of all the places I stayed in Japan, this hotel stands out as the absolute best. Highly recommended!

FranceThey expect that 10 yo kid sleep with parent in a 140cm bed, and don’t provide extra mattress.
Very nice onsen. Nice and practical room. Plain and classy decor of the hotel in general.

CanadaMy only gripe is that our queen room was VERY small. There was really just the bed on a platform, and the TV. No chair, desk, etc. There was a rack with a few hangers for clothes. We only had carry-on luggage and struggled even with just that to find space to spread out. If you're out a lot during the day as we were, it isn't really that big of a problem. However, if you like to come back to your room during the day, or have a lot of luggage, it might be a struggle here. There also isn't much in terms of a lobby for hanging out, either.
This is a really beautiful hotel that strikes a balance between a more traditional Japanese inn and a Western hotel. We opted for breakfast which was traditional bento boxes and was just beautifully served. The public bath is beautiful, too. The location is good, within about 10 minutes walking distance to the station and castle, right across the street from the fish market, and close to numerous cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. Despite the central location, it's very quiet and restful.

United KingdomThe hotel was really lovely. Clean, luxurious facilities, kind staff, great breakfast (the bread they have is really special, sounds weird but it really is incredible). The staff even went out of their way to call me back when I rang panicked about leaving behind a special purchase, minutes before our train was due to depart. They really were calm and kind to a slightly crazed, English speaking lady (me).

BelgiumThe bathroom was very spacious but took the place from the room so there was no realy pace for the clothes or bigger luggages.
The hotel has beautiful design and with perfect location just next to the market. The room were very nice with very comfortable beds (2x160cm beds) and the public bath clean and beautiful with very good quality of amenities. One of the nicesest hotel we stayed during our round trip. We did not try the breakfast as the market is just next to the hotel.

The SOKI Hotel is very cute, it has an spa vibe, really calm, quite and comfortable. The staff are very friendly, they gave a welcoming as soon as we arrived. It's conveniently located close to a market and walking distance from the train station and main city attractions. The breakfast was a great experience, local dishes that allowed us lo learn more about the Kanazawa cuisine.

SpainImpersonal check in and check out using machines like at the airport. Luggage storage was in an unsupervised room just by the hotel exit door so it didn’t feel very safe.

United StatesThe only downside was the lack of a front desk, which meant they couldn't hold our luggage after checkout, and the available lockers were all occupied.
SOKI Kanazawa, a boutique hotel with a modern vibe, offered an efficient, automated check-in with staff available for assistance. While not particularly personal, it worked very well. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the onsen was large and pleasantly uncrowded. We opted to have breakfast at the Kanazawa market across the street, which had limited options, making us regret not signing up for the hotel's breakfast.

AustraliaThere was nothing we didn't like. I wish I had included breakfast at the time of booking as there was no space available when we checked in (breakfast numbers are limited).

The location is very convenient: 15 min from the station and right in front of the amazing Omicho fish market. You can also walk to the castle. The hotel is brand new, clean and offer confortable rooms. The front desk staff helped us to book a car as well to visit the Noto peninsula and Shirakawago village.

SpainNothing to flag here, except for room sizes, which may be tight for a family of 3.
Even if our rooms was small for a family -- but certainly comfortable for an individual or couple -- this hotel combines modern and chic design with traditional Japanese aesthetics and cleanliness. The Sento is a magnificent plus, which we got to enjoy every day. Breakfast was an absolute pleasure as well: the quality, the work, the care in preparations combined with a very relaxing atmosphere made us NOT skip it once! While situated next to a busy road, the hotel lies across from Omicho market, with its lively halls and outstanding seafood. To top it all, staff was remarkably kind, helpful and accommodating, for which this hotel is a great option to explore Kanazawa.

SwedenIt was unfortunate that the breakfast was fully booked, this is something that can be improved to provide more space for breakfast so anyone who is interested can have it before booking it in advance.
SOKI Kanazawa is an amazing hotel, very elegant and modern design at a traditional Japanese setting rooms. The staff was very helpful and the public bath was nice as well. But I booked a dinner at the restaurant in the hotel, Sorasio and it was one of the best dinner experiences I had.
