Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

DenmarkAll was perfect :) We were only surprised that no swimsuits/underwear were allowed in the common bathing areas (meaning that guests enter without any clothes), so we chose not to use them, even though we were very excited for this feature when booking this hotel. Maybe something for future guests to know beforehand :)
Hotel of high Japanese aesthetic with beautiful rooms and common areas. Combines modern and traditional features. Serene, clean and tidy. The staff were very sweet and hospitable and offered snacks upon arrival. In the room we were welcomed with Japanese tea, cardigans and pajamas. We particularly enjoyed the special tatami floor for enjoying morning tea, and the spacious and luxurious bathroom. The bed was also very comfortable. We highly recommend it!!

United KingdomNone - it was great
Loved this hotel - it was beautifully decorated, fantastic facilities, free welcome drink and coffees / rice drinks outside the onsen. Fantastic location, right opposite Omicho market and short walk to the station

What a pleasant retreat feel this hotel and our room had! Room was spacious with a nice bathroom and comfortable beds. The onsen was a special treat. The central location was great so that we weren't too far from anything. It made for a couple very restful, peaceful evenings after sightseeing, and a nice break from busy Tokyo. Very friendly and helpful staff too.

New ZealandAs per normal with most public baths they don't allow those with tattoos but this is quite standard in Japan.
The room was beautiful and quite big especially for Japan. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Aircon was quiet. Bathroom was also quite nice. I also love the convenience of the luggage locker room being self acessible with unique locking codes. This hotel is also right across the road from omicho market.

SpainRoom size is small. We only stayed for 1 night so it was OK for us but would have been uncomfortable if our stay would have been any longer.
Location is great. Beautiful and simple decor. Even the pyjamas were very nice. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Soaps and toilet amenities were eco friendly and smelled wonderful. Great onsen. Breakfast included was japanese and we enjoyed trying it. Staff was friendly.

FranceSlightly impersonal service, as we were faced more with machines than humans. Checking in was done on a screen and checking out too. Maybe we are old-fashioned but we do love to have human interaction more. The staff were friendly but it wasn’t always possible for them to help.
The minimalist design, spotlessly clean.

GermanyNothing, it was absolutely perfect for the low price !
At least our 15th trip to Japan... We travelled with our kid. The rooms are cheap and perfect. Not big, but this is what to expect in Japan. it's not a shoebox, there was a complete japanese bathroom with bath, and toilets are separated. Perfect with a young toddler. Check-in/Check-out was smooth, it was super clean, and just accross the street from the market where we had our breakfast. We were at the top floor and it was very quiet. My husband visited the public bath and mentionned twice 2 japanese people came in and out in less than 5min, probably due to foreigners speaking loudly and being quite disrespectful of the sento/onsen etiquette. I would recommend and go back to the hotel without hesitation.

CanadaNothing. Everything was great.
Loved the location. It was right across the street from the morning fish market and the bus stop was right outside of the hotel. The staff spoke good english and were very kind. The amenities were great (public bath, milk/coffee afterwards). The room itself was designed well and was comfortable. We were also able to connect to the TV with netflix (if we wanted to watch TV at night). Amazing stay!

Indiano coffee is given in the room instead there are green tea sachets kept, which I think is a conscious choice made by the hotel. We really missed our morning coffee so we just picked it up from a store from across the street.

New ZealandPlease note there's not a formal reception area. There are staff who are mainly there to help with the Check in machines. You cannot ship luggage from the hotel, but from the nearby post office (5mins walk)
Good location from nearby attractions, 10/15mins walk to the JR train station. The rooms were large and the beds really comfortable
