Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyNot enough hooks/shelves for storing your clothes, but that seems to be very common in Japan.
Big room with comfortable bathroom. Location was very central and it was a short walk to any of the attractions. Easy self check-in & check-out and clotheing provided for in-house Onsen.

AustraliaAll good
The rooms were excellent. The in house restaurant was fantastic. The hotel was in a good location near the central markets and just a short taxi ride to the hotel.

It was right in front of the fish market. There is so much to do within walking distance. The property was new.

MalaysiaEverything was truly lovely. I suppose the only small inconvenience is that there is no wardrobe (just a standing rack), so it’s pretty tight if you’re traveling with a lot of luggage.
Loved everything about this small, boutique, minimalist hotel. Lovely, clean interior design. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was on the small side (but this is Japan), but we were very comfortable - it was very clean, well designed and just nice enough for our family of three. Facilities are convenient: laundry room, water and ice stations, vending machines etc all in one room. The bath was super popular, so unfortunately, I didn’t manage a visit. We made little scent sachets (complimentary) as tokens of our stay. The location is superb- an easy bus ride from Kanazawa station to Omicho Market which is directly across from the hotel. We will return to stay here in the future.

JapanMaybe an alternative drink option after the bath! Maybe the option to book a private bath session. And a sports massage option would be good.
Great fitout and atmosphere. Loved the big windows.

United StatesRoom is tiny bit tight, hard to lay out suitcase around to unpack and not enough surface (closet) to put away my clothes. I stayed or 3 nights.
It is a boutique hotel with great location, the market is right off across the hotel. Its easy to get anywhere, coffee shops, places to eat is easily find.

CanadaI was told a vegetarian breakfast could not be prepared. I accepted the breakfast given and gave my partner the fish/meat items. My tray also contained miso soup, rice, pickles and tofu. I ate these and enjoyed them. So it seems you do have the food items to create a simple vegetarian breakfast for your guests. Though the closet had hangers, we would have appreciated some clothing hooks near the door and in the bathroom.
Location was perfect. We walked to all the main tourist spots. Breakfast was presented beautifully. Dining room was immaculate.

SingaporeThe room was a little small, but with some manoeuvring it was manageable
Clean, comfortable and next to Omicho market, which was right near everything. The staff was very nice too - while the check in process initially looked chaotic (I think many of us arrived with the same train) it was actually rather quick and orderly.

We didn't have the breakfast but everything else was perfect. The spa is divine, the rooms spotless and the kimonos were super comfy and cute. I loved the extra touches (chocolate milk for after your bath, a sweet on arrival, tea in your room etc) . The staff were helpful and friendly and let me use the phone to call ahead to the next hotel.

GermanyThe hotel offers an Onsen, but it's not tattoo-friendly. While they sell patches to cover, it's not practical if you have multiple or large tattoo, so we couldn't use it.
The hotel is fresh and nice. There is an effort to be conscious about design and sustainability. The room was good, with a comfortable bed, and a nice bath. Everything was very clean. The location is good, the fish market is right across the street and the various tea house quarters are available via foot in 15-20 min. The main station is also close.
