Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JapanIf I’m forced to say, the staffs at the breakfast can be a little more careful. Sometimes, they don’t see around and nearly bumped into customers.
Clean enough to stay comfortably, and morning buffet was good as well.

SwitzerlandThe actual hotel lobby is underwhelming after seeing the wedding event lobby. Hotel and the room itself is rather tired in decor. Shower curtains in bathrooms instead of more modern glass doors was a bit of a downgrade from other hotels we’ve stayed at for this price range. Room size is bordering on small but ok for a short stay.
The lobby, location.

AustraliaThe Strings Hotel Nagoya is in a fantastic location, making it easy to access local attractions and transportation. However, the room was smaller than expected, which might be a consideration for those who prefer more space. Despite the size, the room was clean and well-maintained, and the staff provided excellent service throughout my stay.

TaiwanThe hotel itself is quite new and so are the rooms and amenities. Aonami line Sasashima-life ( ささしまライブ) station, Familymart and many restaurants are within walking distance. Shuttle service to and from Nagoya station taigoutoori ( 太閤通口) helps a lot. Staffs are really helpful.

United StatesA bit pricey compared to the quality of the hotel. The interior is smaller than we would expect. There're insufficient elevators so sometimes the waiting time for elevator is longer.
Providing free shuttle connecting the Nagoya station, which makes it easy to go to nearby cities and the Nagoya airport. The Nagoya station is also the hub for municipal transportation. There is a beautiful park and little castle/chapel in the front, excellent for wedding ceremony. The bath and toilet are separated. It is pretty quiet around yet it is convenient as there're several restaurants and family mart/7-11s nearby.

SwedenOn the opposite side of the street is some kind of music club. We could hear noise from the event in the club in our room. It was a little bit annoying.
Hotel is in a really nice building. Reception is located in a 4th floor, rooms - higher up. Entrance hall with the restaurant and facilities for weddings looks very cosy and beautiful. Our room was clean, quite big if compared with other hotels where we stayed in Japan. Breakfast was luxury, a lot of things to pick from - both local food and western dishes. Free shuttle bus service to the train station was offered. Good WiFi connection.

SwedenOn the whole we cannot complain: The room was a good size, even with the sofa folding out to a bed but it was a bit difficult to find space for our 3 big suitcases. It worked, but only just. If your party only has small suitcases or handluggage it would work fine.
The hotel was at least a 10 minute walk from the train station but was still very close to the rail tracks. At first sight that was a bit worrying but the soundproofing worked so well one could not hear the trains at all. It actually became an attraction to sit at the window and watch the trains coming and going. The beds, even the sofa bed, were very comfortable. The hotel is across the road from a small mall with good selection of restaurants. The Korean restaurant we tried the first night was great but it closes around 7. We tested the Japanese one specializing in Nagoya quisine, the next day when we dined later in evening which was great as well. It was pouring down both evenings so we were not tempted to venture very far. The hotel itself has various restaurants with interesting menus but they were a bit fancy for a family with children. There is also a Family Mart nearby if one wants to shop there instead of eating out.

JapanThe room I booked indicated that the room would accommodate three, only to find out in the final receipt only two can get beddings and have to pay extra for additional beddings. Instead of offering an apology for the confusion, the staff tried in however subtle way that we might not enjoy sleeping cramped in two bedsI told them that I’d give a call f I find it necessary. There was no need.
No distracting noise at all, our room is on the 7th floor and love the view of the city at night. The room is clean.

AustraliaLocation is ok but not very close to Nagoya station, around 20-25mins walk.
It’s new, the replenish the amenities and cleanup everyday. It has a beautiful church inside we took some great photos. A Family Mart just across the road. The room is overall clean but there was a hair on my bed when I arrived. The room is spacious for two people but we had three people sharing the room so not enough room for luggages.
