Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThis hotel is NOT a 4 star hotel. We arrived at 2:45, was told to go away until 3pm and told we can’t park our hire car on site and to park across the road in public parking. Parking was for buses only. The staff are rude to individual travelers, they only seem to be interested in the groups They have no onsite private parking as advertised, it’s only for the buses. The hotel is disgustingly dirty, carpet and chairs are all stained. Would never stay there again. Didn’t even have the breakfast we paid for as we got there at what we were told was the opening time to find the dining room full and no food left as everyone from the groups had full plates.
The rooms are big. But the carpet and chairs are stained. The pillows are rock hard, the towels are old

The location of the place is great to tour around Lake Yamanako and there are many eateries around. There is a good view of Mt Fuji at the end of the corridor. The buffet dinner was good value for money with the option to enjoy King crab at a very reasonable price. We enjoyed the hot bath also.

SingaporeTour group and tour buses that hog the entrances. Usage of onsen could also be more regulated (Japan rules) so that it is more friendly for all to use and not let the tour groups dictate how to use this kind of bath system.

SpainThe hotel is geared for big Chinese groups which come in big herds almost every day. They are totally ignorant to any hotel etiquette and they are loud, use the corridors and common spaces as if they were their own and have zero awareness of those around them. They keep the room doors open and have conversations (meaning shouting) across the corridor. Just plain rude. I complained to the reception desk which I’m sure they tried but to no avail. In fact, it got worse, children shouting and racing up and down the corridors and slamming doors. I used the Onsen when they are out during part of the day because as soon as they come in, they literally use the Onsen pools like paddling pools and even let the children jump into the pools and run around. Also, the hotel restaurant is closed for independent guests for dinner. If you are not part of a big excursion, you have to find somewhere else to eat. In terms of cleanliness, it is ok but a good wipe to all surfaces would be advisable. It is a shame because I understand that the big excursions are the bread and butter of this hotel but it doesn’t take much to set some ground rules to make everybody and I mean “everybody” to have a good holiday experience.
Very helpful staff and great Onsen. I value the fact that they allow tattoos in the Onsen. Being a foreigner tattoos are very common and Japan is very strict having a no tattoo policy in almost every public Onsen. The location is fantastic with great views and close to bus stops and local amenities.

SingaporeLow cleanliness Poor service Breakfast quality was low Location not close to amenities.
Service was poor. Cleanliness poor. Cobwebs on the ceiling. Comfort poor. Bed mattress, sunken. Pillow flat. Was told to pay Yen300 for an additional pillow. Breakfast, the worst i have eaten during my past 10 days travel in Japan. Restaurants are few in the area and away from hotel. Had to drive out to seach for food. Cater mostly to tour groups. Only good was the public bath. And good view of mount fuji on the other side of the lake.

MalaysiaMany groups of tour guests are staying at this hotel, which makes the breakfast servings feel inadequate, even though breakfast time has not yet ended. Guests who arrive late can only choose from the leftover food.
The room is remarkably spacious, the lake views are stunning, and the unexpected views of Mt. Fuji are a delightful bonus.
