GermanyIt was my third time at this hotel so obviously they are doing something right. The scenery is absolutely stunning, it‘s a great place for hiking and rafting. The dinner was tasty and if you stay multiple nights, they serve something new every evening. The onsen is alkaline and soapy to the touch. The staff tried to be as accommodating as possible.

Switzerland• View from the private bath is mostly hidden by wooden structure and a very unsexy green roof (see picture) that hides the view on the river and beautiful mountain. • Bathroom is very small (and old?). (see picture) • Room amenities are below the standards you'd await from a ryokan. Only yukata (of 'okay' quality) and hanten (over-yukata) but no tabi (socks) and no seta (sandals). • Private onsen is a bit meh, feels more like a warm water bath rather than an onsen (which I guess you can could be expected as the region isn't known at all for onsen). Seems overwall to me like it was built quite some time ago and was most likely at that time a great place, unfortunately not enough effort has been put into renovating the place (regardless of the reason) which makes the ryokan itself quite disappointing despite being located in a beautiful area and the staff being very nice.
